skintchick wrote: »Right. I have some shopping-related questions which I know you ladies will love to answer!
First - when did you start shopping? I remember some people on here having the whole denial thing and I realise that I've got that now too!
People keep asking me what I've bought and looking horrified when I say nothing. I mean, I really haven;t got a thing yet although i have a few things in my favourites and pretty much know which pram I want, etc.
So - when is it normal to start actual shopping?
Also, what do I need? My list goes as follows:
crib
travel system (pram, car seat, etc)
muslins
washable nappies (but how many?)
babygros
baby sleeping bag
sling
nursing bras
nursing clothes
baby bath (maybe a tummy tub?)
And then I get stuck! Thing is, we go on holiday about 6-8 weeks after Bubba is due (wedding in Italy) so I am going to need stuff for holiday too! Like travel cot, sunscreen, hat for baby...
And I reckon I'll need to have done it all by the birth as I surely won;t want to go shopping afterwards?
Help me with my list! But i want to get as little as possible and will be co-sleeping and breastfeeding so don;t plan on needing bottles.
I bought one or 2 bits of clothes as I've gone along... But don't want too much in neutral so waiting for baby so we can go shopping and get cute coloured things...
The only reason we have some of the bigger stuff is because I have left overs from Aimee or my Aunt is lending them to us... But only recently got the moses basket (I did not get it from an MSE member via facebook... Honest) and ordered a new buggy last Thursday...
Also won 21 little lamb nappies from eBay, brand new about £50 cheaper than the website... I don't have any experience of them but thought they would do for the first couple of months then I can start experimenting with size 2s... Baby will be in them a lot longer so I don't mind shelling out for them...
Oh and you won't need a travel cot if baby will only be 6-8 weeks at the tome of the wedding, if you plan to co-sleep you won't need anything... If you're in a hotel, they would more than likely supply a cot.. Otherwise, baby would be fine spending a couple of nights in a fully reclined pram / carry cot...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... My head HURTS! And DH is off to work till midnight too. Had a snooze but it hasn't helped, taken paracetamol too and trying to drink loads in case it's dehydration.
Does baby have a growth spurt about 20 weeks? Been really tired past few days and thought that might be it.
I had a few weeks of feeling wiped out around then.. might have been week 22 ish..Have you tried a few squares of chocolate too? (or part of an Easter egg!) Something to do with the caffine and sugar helping headaches..
Any excuse!

Oh yeah, happy birthday Tia... Don't be moaning about your age... You're 18 months younger than me
Was going to do a lovely roast pork dinner today... Had all the veggies ready, got the pork out of the packet... And it had a slightly dodgy wiff about it... Didn't dare cook it... So hubby just did us meatballs instead, was lovely and I'm stuffed(He's also getting better at timing, it was still mostly warm when we got it
)

I have a headache too! Think its from being in the sun too long - def not dehydrated have drank loads today.
Just wanted to know who passed me the dia-woo-woo bug?!
Jeez - don't know if it's a bug or the Chicken Madras I had last night - no spicy curries for me near labour if this is the resultA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I can't eat chocolate this pregnancy, it just makes me sick. No coffee either. Will try some irn bru and fruit pastels.
Then again, since last Friday I have been chasing after DS1 and DS1 when they were ill so maybe it's just catching me up. Really just want to be left alone to sleep. Will get kids fed and settle them in bed with a DVD a bit early tonight hopefully. A nice bath and an early night will sort me out.
And then I look at the kitchen which s a mess with about every dish dirty! :rotfl:0 -

Forgot to say Happy Birthday
Does anyone else feel guilty when coughing?! I' ve had a hacking cough the last few days and I really feel for bean being squished in there while my insides are squeezing together! Even worse when you're coughing whilst on the looA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Skinty, what about a passport for the baby?
Would one come through in time if you were overdue?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I haven't had a cough whilst being pregnant, but sneezing hurts! My whole bump used to tighten up at the bottom, then baby moves around more afterwards - like he's tensed up in shock for a minute then he stretches out to make room again!0
