thats what i've been doing :j yay i used my brain lol. it seems to be less sore today, it looks less red anyway, still crusting somewhat though. havent called nhs direct though as it doesnt seem to be causing him any trouble, gonna get straight on the phone to the doctors tuesday morning though. that'll be fun after 4 days closed :rolleyes:emlou my friends LO had what that sounds like (it was a fungal infection and appeared as if from nowhere), I'd bathe it in salt water if its not too sore and put sudacrem on it to help it heal try to keep it as dry as poss and try NHS direct they will tell you if it can wait to be seen or not and get him registered at GPs this week its just a form you fill in and they take a copy of birth cert x
and where exactly are you supposed to plug in your steriliser and wash your bottles etc? when i was in we had to trundle the babies up and down the corridor in their cot with us whenever we did anything other than go to the loo so that would have meant we had to take the baby in a cot to the kitchen every time, not a hassle at all when you've just passed a baby through what is normally a very small hole and you're waddling around even more than you were before!! and am i right in thinking you're not meant to plug in non-PAT tested items in hospitals as well? honestly...Oh, meant to say this the other day.. There was a notice up in our doctors saying that the local hospital was stopping providing anything for bottlefeeding mums from 1st April. You've now got to take your own bottles, formula, bottle brush and steriliser stuff (microwave bags for ease?). They used to provide the SMA readymade bottles - presumably they still have them for if you go in with the intention of breastfeeding then have problems..
its annoying me more and more with everyone i speak to, i know breast is best but i feel like i've been treated almost like a petty criminal by people like the health visitor for switching to formula. the first time she came round i was still breastfeeding and she was here for about half an hour, well over half of the visit was spent lecturing me on how wonderful it was, i said i was struggling and she checked the position etc and it was all fine, weighed him, visit done. OH was here and even he commented on how full on she was about it. i took seth to be weighed last week and she started lecturing again as i was undressing him, i told her i'd had to give it up and she looked at me like i was a terrible evil person and barely said a word after that! it hasnt even just been her, people have been passing comments about it like its their business when it really isnt!!
seth was good at first, sleeping for about 3-4 hours a night in his first week, then he gradually got worse and it got to the point where he would wake for a feed every hour and a half, sometimes even every hour. that lasted 2 long weeks, too long to be a growth spurt which i thought it was at first. i was completely exhausted so OH banned me from getting up one night so i could get some sleep and fed him formula. he slept for 4 and a half hours straight away! it was no contest for us after that, IMHO its better for him (and both of us) that i'm in a frame of mind where i can actually cope with looking after him than to have a exhausted, stressed, ratty mum and breast milk. i guess what i'm trying to say is that i wish the health "professionals" would see it from both points of view, some people it simply does not work for, and in the fragile hormonal state you're in (well at least the one i've been in!!) after giving birth the last thing you need is to be made to feel like you're a bad mum cos its not working out for you!
hmm that turned into a bit of a rant lol
yay! quick easy just-slip-out labour vibes!!Hi ladies, I've not caught up or anything just had to pop in and tell you..

i like that, tis nice! i had something like that when i was little, but it was a tall wardrobe with a flip door shelf thing in the top and shelves on the bottom inside the main doors and no drawers. How about this?
No experience though.. I just found it whilst browsing after Sami mentioned tallboys. I had a tallboy at home, but it was a cupboard with two doors and a shelf in the middle with two full width drawers underneath - no hanging rail.Mummy to

Came home with a crib, moses basket and stand and a vibrating bouncy chair
DH will kill me.
Just thinking of that Chinese gender prediction.... that's it scored a hat trick for me
Predicted the two boys correctly and now my girl.
We are still stuck on Aisha for a girl (spoken Aye-sha), but then both the boys were a different name till a few weeks before the birth.
I love Aisha, but I'm biased, as that's the name of the song OH and I had for our first dance:

Grr. Was trying to catch up but MSe sent my computer kerayzee and I've given up.
If anyone fancies giving me a rundown of the last five pages I'd be grateful - I managed to read the first five before it all went mad and froze my screen (although that may have been eveil witch vibes from Grace on the other thread
