Feeling most sorry for myself today, stuck in the office, trousers very uncomfortable and two other ladies in the office have just announced they are 12 weeks and while I am chuffed to bits for them (we are a very female, family oriented firm so these things are lovely round here!) can't help thinking this little one isn't going to stick around. To top it all I had a bad appointment with new nurse - I have a history of mildly high blood pressure and have been on and off meds and monitoring for the last 10 years but it seems its high again and I am only 8 weeks (today!) and the nurse couldn't understand why I wasnt on medication for it (I don't know why previous previous GP took me off it, I can't remember!). Anyway have appointment with GP next week - as an after thought, she said and he will see you about your antenatal appointments too. I know you can't do medical advice on here but just feeling really down on here that my health could well be screwing this up. My BMI has been 27-30 for years so that doesn't help but I've never smoked, haven't drunk for weeks and my diet isn't all that bad but my gym going has been non-existent the last 3/4 weeks since ectopic scare and hospital - unfortunately my genes aren't in my favour though as we have a tendency towards hypertension in my family even though I am the fattest by a very very very long way. Was really grumpy with DP last night and this morning, I can't seem to get my worries into rational words with him as I know he is worried too! How silly is that? Can you diet in pregnancy? Would that help? Just being bleedin' miserable today. I'll go now!

There's not much you can actually do but try and stay relaxed. If they medicate you, they medicate you. Your BMI is not too bad so stop beating yourself up.

Eat healthily, take some nice strolls instead of going to the gym and try and and try and enjoy yourself.

Do u have any ideas at all what it could be?

I don't, I have no idea either way - no feelings or anything. I think that's partly why I want to find out because it means I get a little bit of information about my baby now and then tons when he/she is born.

Whoever mentioned the skin to skin contact with OH - thanks!
It was great and he really enjoyed it being so close to me and Bean. I was kinda hoping he/she might give a little kick but not yet.
I have no clue at all... Hubby is convinced it is a boy... And I lean more towards boy... But then I did with Aimee and she turned out to be a girl! I keep telling hubby if we do have a girl it will come out very gender confused seeing as it's been called he all the way through lol.. I love a good surprise :D

And as for skin to skin... I gave birth in a birthing pool but insisted on keeping my nightie on in the water because my sister was there... When I got out the water I just held my arms in the air 'skin a bunny' style, someone (no idea who) stripped my nightie off and I got on the bed and Aimee was put on my chest and we were covered with a blanket while I went through 3rd stage... For some reason I just ceased to care lol...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

My goodness Icklebeans you look adorable! I really hate it when strangers come and rub my belly, but my hands are itching just looking at that picture.

I went to bed for an hour before going out to the GP's emergency hour and slept right through it. Feeling a bit better now, but I've been sniffling so much and so long that now my nose is bleeding :(

Still, my OH has the plague now and is far worse than I am. He's gone to bed and left his computer open and his Facebook unattended. I'm just wondering what to do to his status...

Always - no dieting unless under doctors instructions :)

Eat healthily and do walking etc - nothing strenuous. Maybe Aquanatal classes - that kinda thing. Don't try and loose loads of weight whilst you're pregnant - it's not good for you or the babby.

Oh before I go and do dinner...

MW said I have a lovely tummy and gorgeous skin on it! :D Not a stretchmark in sight and only 3 weeks to go! Now if only we can stay that way I'll be chuffed! I know mum never had any but I figured everything else has managed to not go my way this pregnancy surely I'd end up with stretchmarks that would help me blend in a herd of zebras!

    Hi all..

Just had a quick read through. Off out soon for tea with FIL (MIL is away all week).

Krystal, my boy bubba's heartbeat was 135bpm on Saturday (26+6). Sonographer said that was perfectly fine and it just slows down to similar to mine by the time he's born.

LCK73, I had evening nausea from week 8 to week 14, then actual sickness in the mornings from week 14 to week 22. Still get it now (27+4) if I get too hungry / don't eat soon enough after waking up.

Hope everyone else is okay :)

I'll be back later xx (PS Not been to the pharmacy - didn't get chance - but not quite so uncomfortable today ;):o)

Ditto but this is my 3rd child and I only have 16 days to go.
    We are blessed! :D
