Sugar, that's awful!!! OMG I can feel my blood pressure rising just thinking about all that, imagine if that happened to me lol, I think I would be inside doing time now!!

I'd do what MrsTine has suggested ~ I certainly wouldn't let them get away with such poor standards!

Yay, I'm not last anymore! lol...
Aww, best of luck to you - I hope everything goes really well. We're going to get a private scan, too, as this is our first and I'm just nervous that it's all in my head! :p Wanted one at 8 weeks, but clinic didn't have appts until 9-week mark, so I'll have to be patient.

They have no idea who they're messing with or what they've unleashed. There will be hell to pay, and not paying these ridiculous extra charges is only the start of it.

Loving all these bump pictures. We've not taken any yet for no reason at all that I can see. There just hasn't been time when we've thought about it.

OH has been taking 'bump' pics every week for the last 6-8 weeks - think I'm due one tonight. If I can get one of his phone I'll post it soon.

I am on antibiotics :( - the sore throat, earache etc seem to be sinusitis - abx will also help my swollen gums and wisdom tooth!

OOh Glam I do feel your pain. After suffering for 4 years with wisdom teeth popping through I finally had to go have one taken out just before xmas as it was being forced to grow into the side of my mouth as there wasn't enough room for it,I was in agony most of the time, always having to drug myself up to get through it. Well, having it out was the best thing ever..no bother since (except I suspect Im heading that way again on the opposite side)
Gosh I feel like a fat lazy cow today. Apart from washing 3 lots of bedding and hanging it out Ive done booger all. The kids have been playing out on trampoline and they had a water fight. Then we sat and ate a huge bag of toffee popcorn and watched Mamma Mia :o Told them we'll take the dog for a walk to the park after tea so I WILL get off my backside!! Back to school for them tommorow and back to work for me.
love my little man he is amazing :j

Yes, but if you're only 5 weeks or so (like me), I don't see how you'd be moving differently yet! But of course there's a difference between someone who never exercises/completely out of shape versus someone who is generally is good physical condition - I don't see how someone who is in generally good physical condition (including flexibility!) who happens to be in early pregnancy would be much different than your average yoga newbie.

BUt then again, i've never taken yoga so maybe there's mysterious moves and stuff I'm not aware of that wouldn't work even in very early pregnancy? :p

Well, Nicki has made some good points in her post after this, but I will add that I don;t think ti would make that much difference very early on. My teacher told me that there was no need to do anything differently until I was 12 weeks, except in my case we did do things differently because of my previous miscarriage, just to be on the safe side in terms of the baby.

however, I was already doing yoga, and as Nicki says if you're not used to it then you could possibly hurt yourself BUT yoga is all about listening to your body, and therefore I think that if you were careful and your teacher was aware of your pregnancy that it would be fine.

I have to say, having seen a demonstration of 'pregnancy yoga' I'd be more worried about doing that! It's such a mish-mash of yoga, aerobics and other stuff that I don;t give it much credence.

There aren;t any mysterious moves a newbie would be doing that would do much damage - overstretching and squishing hte bump are the only dangers really, other than lying flat and the inversions, and even so there are some yoga devotees who don;t believe inversions are harmful in pregnancy (it's when you go upside down) and I do do some still although not headstands or shoulderstands, but that's more because of balance I think!

If you find a good teacher from the website I gave you and talk to them beforehand to be sure you're happy with them then I think you'd be fine.

If you are anywhere near Twyford then my teacher is Minna Cutler and she is amazing.

Having taken part in pregnancy yoga classes since beng pregnant and before that I did 'standard yoga', I can offer my opinion, if it makes any difference.

The pregnancy yoga I am doing is more geared towards the relaxation stuff, and moves and poses to relieve pain/tension in areas of your body affected by pregnancy. It is hardly anything like normal yoga but still beneficial I feel. It focuses on techniques to help deal with pain and discomfort in labour and the birth, and is more (I feel) like an active birthing class than 'yoga'. I don't know why they call it yoga and if it was someones first experience of yoga then they'd be very confused when going to a normal class afterwards, thinking they had an understanding of what it's about when they really wouldn't! Though as I said, the class itself has been very beneficial for me to take part in, just the 'pregnancy yoga' title is misleading.

Just like all classes, some are good and some are rubbish, it depends on the teacher and content, just like all aerobics classes aren't the same, neither are all yoga classes so you really would have to attend to see if it suits you.
