People think walls don't get dusty and dirty - but they do! If it dries to a lighter shade it may be worth just washing the entire wall over as it could be dust residue that it keeping it dark. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it will all come good I am sureCat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money

Fwiw, vacumming with the upholstery brush is a good springcleaning task, it removes dust without scratching or marking.
We get marks on walls a lot because we get mud etc pn them from dogs and boots coming in the house. In my last home i cleaned the hall way walls once a week. And yes, they can lighten. I used no product other than washing up liquid diluted if necessary and dried it immeadiately...i learned quickly that anything else left marks, the dribbly clean marks of a spray cleaner was mortifying!0 -
Thanks OP for asking this, my kitchen walls are blue and constantly have finger marks etc on them from DSS0

I want to clean the walls in my kitchen as they are greasy in places. They are painted with Sexy Pink Dulux Matt which says it is wipeable but I feel like it needs scrubbing. I am worried however that I will take half the paint off while cleaning it and don't want to use something too abrasive.
I would really like some suggestions on what to use to clean it and how to do it without taking the paint off. Feel free to move/merge as needed if not in right place.
Thanks in advance0 -

I've just bought some Sugar Soap to give it a go, will test on a little area out of sight first. Thanks for the suggestions.0

I wouldn't use Sugar Soap, it is too abrasive, some star drops, warm water and a big sponge like the one you would use on a car, or a squeegee mop start at the bottom of the wall and work your way upwards. Go over it several times, change the water a lot.0
