    Hi All,

Lookign for some advice off someone who has used Tesco deals with Virgin please. Booked a holiday with Virgin, sent off deals recorded delivery as requested. I know that the vouchers got there in time as I have checked delivery on the Post Office site.

However when I phoned the Virgin helpline, they have not received the vouchers yet? Apparently they go to a different department and what happens is they send out an invoice for the whole amount owed (minus deposit) and then when they eventually receive the vouchers from the other department, they send a revised invoice for the amount minus the amount in deals.

Seems a dreadfully long winded way around and this time spoke to people in a foreign call centre who didn't really seem to know what they were doing?!

Did anyone else have this sort of problem - I am getting stressed about it all as I need them to accept the £1000 in deals I sent off,

Any help would be gratefully received?!

    Hi,

I booked a Virgin Holiday with Clubcard vouchers vouchers just over a week ago. I booked the Hol on Fri 11th (early evening) and posted my vouchers the next day by Special Delivery. I have checked the Royal Mail website to confirm it has been delivered, but haven't had any sort of confirmation from Virgin  I would have expected some sort of Holiday confirmation letter by now.

When did you book your Hol? (and where are you going :p ?)

Think I will ring them on Monday....

I think this is just the way they work. I paid a cash deposit and got the ref: no. over the phone, which had to be written on each ClubCard deal token.
Sent them off and waited for another 2 weeks before second invoice with the Deals deducted arrived.
So I guess thats how they do it. I sent off almost £3000.
As long as you have the ref: no. of holiday don't worry.

Every 100 points you get on your card can be used to take £1 off your shop instore or can give you £4 worth of deals which are detailed in the above link.
  • Thanks Zippy and Lilac - it makes me feel a lot better to know that its not just happening to me! I will wait for the second invoice letter and not panic when the first one turns up without my Tesco deals being taken off!

Zippy - I booked about 10 days ago and still have no paperwork so I think it probably takes them a bit of a while to sort it out. I don't think they like dealing with people who use Tesco deals as well - the girl just kept sighing all the time I was on the phone to her! I just thought sod it, jealousy will get you nowhere! We have booked to go to Orlando, Florida for October 2009 halfterm - I know its miles away but DD2 will be nearly 3 then and that will be her first time going - DD1 will be nearly 6, but she's a pro - it will be her 3rd time! (second child syndrome for my youngest - can't afford to do much now there's two of them!) I can't wait to go - when we go it will have been 3 1/2 years since we have had a holiday, so hopefully it will be nice!

Where have you booked to? Are you taking a clan with you?!

We are going to St Lucia :D and yes we are taking a clan with us :rotfl: 2 Boys (5 and 3) and my Baby Daughter who will be 6 months when we go. It's their first time abroad.
I will call Virgin on Monday anyway as we are moving house soon and I need to let them know.

I don't like all this waiting about though

I want to order some Irish Ferry Clubcard deals vouchers. I've got £12 and my OH has £3 - can I use his to add to mine to give us £60 off the ferry? Or can I only use mine?

Hi you should be fine using them together as long as your surnames are the same and the address is the same.

Maybe when you ring to get them have your husbund on hand to speak to them to confirm that he also wants them.

Or, step away from the phone for a minute and adopt a deep voice and pretend to be your OH.:D

    Hi Folks,

I have a rather silly question but can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I am looking to save up clubcard points with tescos in order to pay for having my car MOT'd and serviced at Nationwide autos. I notice if you exchange the vouchers though they are only valid for 6 months.

So how would I go about saving up my clubcard points? Is there a way to let my account build up rather than them sending me vouchers each quarter?

No, just keep the vouchers until you are ready to convert them. They are valid for 2 years.

The only way not to receive vouchers each quarter AFAIK is the xmas savings scheme....but don't don't don't!! As I think you have to spend them instore then (perish the thought).

BTW I wouldn't recommend Nationwide Autos, they are allegedy a bunch of rip-off merchants IMHO, but that's another story...
