I ordered some Cosmos vouchers online last week. I traded in £450 tesco vouchers (= £1800 cosmos worth) which i have saved up/ accrued over the last 2 years. i was hoping to put it towards a holiday in Autumn half term.
A week later and the cosmos vouchers have still not arrived
I rang Tescos who said because of the high value they were doing security checks. He could not tell me what the checks were or how long they would take. he said it was a Government requirement or something?...
has anyone else had this happen to them? I am really worried now that they will not honour them for some reason. I have spent two years collecting them, and have NOT abused the system in any way (no stock piles of johnsons talc for me etc)
I need the vouchers to book the hol. If they don't send them soon, I won't get the hol I want as half term hols are fast running out.
Any one had a delay like this? And how long did you wait.
There is no mention on the Tesco website or in the Deal brochure about neccessary security checks.`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.0 -

We ordered the same amount of Hilton Hotel vouchers and they took 15 days to arrive! Normally the vouches arrive within a couple of days. It was also the first time we had ordered a deal on line so we were a little concerned but they did arrive safely!
Does anyone know what I do now with the the £450 worth of Tesco vouchers? Obviously I can't spend them in Tesco and it just seems wrong to throw them away:D ! I am sure I read here that some other stores take them? I live in London/Essex but am willing to travel!
ThanksWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0 -

Don't worry! I ordered £350 of Virgin Holiday vouchers very recently and they took 14 days to arrive. I too telephoned to ask where they were and was told the same thing - high value security checks. I had stockpiled on the talc and vitamins to get more points so I had concerns that they wouldnt honour the points, but the vouchers arrived safely - so it would just seem that at this time of year there is a build up people cashing in their February mailing and the checks take longer. I too had been saving for about 2 years and would have feel very aggrieved if they had been refused! The lady I spoke to also said that they are dealt with on a date received basis so if they got several requests on that day then yours would be dealt with in the order that they came in.
I said to her that there should be a warning somewhere on the Tesco Deals website warning of possible delays if cashing in high value amounts so you can plan around the delay. If I had known then what I know now I would have cashed them in several smaller amounts over a couple of weeks and done without the worry! I will do this the next time I have a high value - which will be in another 2 years probably.

Thanks

Just to answer the question, that is true.
It also prevents mailed vouchers from being stolen if they are delivered to the wrong address (this happened to us a few times, as our mail is always getting mis-delivered).This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Just to update... My tesco cosmos vouchers arrived safely today. Took just over a week to process. I had ordered £1800 worth, so extra checks were needed on the transaction apparently.
Luckily the holiday I wanted was still available. So 5 of us are off to Turkey in October. Thanks Mr T.
But please be aware that the conversion time for tescco to Deals vouchers is sometimes longer than the usual 2-3 day turnaraound. Plan accordingly.`Save a little money each month, and at the end of the year, you'll be suprised at how little you have.0 -
When you use vouchers for day trips and hotel bookings do you need to choose a specific date for these when ordering or can you use them anytime?Thanx
