    Depends where you are.

    Several roads here have been covered by these cameras since their inception. Roadworks have never been an issue there.

    Also, if the various policies/mouthpieces are to be believed, we are about to see a great increase in the use of this technology, for no apparent reason.

    Who always sticks to the speed limits though? I agree that in roadworks they are a good idea but to roll them out elswhere is a bit Orwelian.

    In Scotland they now think thedy are great since the A77 has them along it's length.

    Average speed cameras are very efficient at discouraging the boy racers and other idiots who think it's OK to drive way over the speed limit.
    I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    Really? I've never seen a camera stop anyone from doing anything.

    I'm going to be a bit controversial here (so unlike me :rolleyes:) and say that these should be in operation on all roads to cut speeding
