    A common discussion on MCE.
Usually average cameras are installed at roadworks to protect the workforce.
I work on motorways and there is nothing worse then vehicles travelling at 100mph 3 foot away! I do dissagree with Scamras BTW.
Average Cameras, SPECS 3 being one of the new systems cannot be fooled no matter how often you change lanes.

Alternatively, use a motorbike - no numberplate on the front
Even motorbikes cannot escape now. On motorways where Active Traffic Mangement or Controlled Motorways (M20,M42 etc) your speed is monitored by forward facing ANPR aswell as rear facing gatso type cameras attached to gantries.

A couple of pieces of gaffer tape across your front numberplate would probably do the job, unlikely police would ever notice as on a motorway they'd all be coming from behind .
  • Won't need them at all when satellite technology is all in place for road pricing and the receiver is in your car, and it'll come, how else can they get the money from owners of the new breed of electric/hybrid car that'll soon be here.

When the bill (should i say statement as they'll have already taken the money via direct debit) for your travel comes through there will be a second letter (recorded) with all the speed infringements that you've totted up in the same billing period....can't wait.

    A politicians version of utopia?
  • just keep to the speed restrictions?

I think the average speed are a disgrace, is there something that we can use so we know our average speed as we all speed up and slow down when on motorways.

Cruise control is very handy for this.

Yes there is something you can use, it's called common sense, if you don't exceed the speed limit while in the ASC zone you won't get done for speeding.
