My partner has a visa electron card. and to be honest we find it ok, have bought loads of stuff online, had no problem using it abroad, in fact in disneyland paris, its a prefered cardIn this trusted place U can erase
Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine0 -
I have had a Visa Electron for years and use it on the internet and in every shop I have made a purchase. Where you lot live Mars. Anyway the more people that use them the better as more places will have to accept them. I dont have bad credit but would rather have it thats all.All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0

CopperPlate wrote:Solo is a separate company - the sister company to Switch (which is now part of MasterCard International, hence the name change to Maestro). Electron is part of Visa International so some of the banks might be changing from what might be part of MasterCard, to an offering from Visa (Electron). I know that Bank of Scotland has moved away from Switch/Maestro to Delta instead - that could be why they're changing their Solo cards to Electron as Delta/Electron are part of Visa.

Royal Bank Scotland used to hold a share in Switch (think that had something to do with it as well (after buying Natwest to aquire its merchant services, now Worldpay) after the Halifax/BOS merger, BOS never renewed its contract for Swicth/Solo (or was it refused?), thus all the RBS group companies still issue Solo, Switch/Maestro ie...Royal Bank Scot, Ulster and Natwest
