Hi,....Didn't get a floppy drive with mine because I use a USB memory stick and this worked perfectly with this PC....
could you tell me if there is space to fit a floppy drive on your 3000 & does it have the slot on the front that the disk would fit through?
Thanks for any advice, UB.

http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/SVP_Communications_Special_Offers_15.html
Its a 17" TFT, 2 years warranty, 16ms response time, 0.264 dot pitch 450:1 ratio.
Its a good screen - 165 pounds, - I bought one of those 15" Aldi ones the other day for 130 quid and sort of regret it after seeing this.if i had known then what i know now0 -

My old man ordered one of these and he phoned up CS, who told him there wasn't a bay for a floppy drive. Floppy Drive was an option before ordering so I'm baffled at this. You can get USB floppys for about 10-15 quid though.if i had known then what i know now0 -

It's not practical to fit your own floppy drive on these. There is no problem about the hole in the front, as you just need to unclip a bit of plastic covering this. The problem is that Dell do not supply a mounting bracket, so there is just a hole with nowhere to screw the floppy drive in. Sourcing a bracket is very expensive.
The short answer is that, if you want a floppy drive, specify that when you order the machine, and pay Dell's rather extortionate £20 + VAT for it.
The other possibility, as Wolfey said, is a USB floppy drive, but then you have the thing lying around. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
To save a lot of hassel and messing around trying to find brackets why not buy a new case or use your old one if you want to put extra drives in your new dell machine, thats what I will be doing.MSE:-)MoneySpendingExpert (-:0
