MIPAY Talkmobile - Strange Charge

Me too. This time on a Smile credit card. Also, an O2 top-up on the same day. Both for £30. Smile seem aware of both as common fraudulent transactions and said that both are common 'pilot' transactions to test that the card is valid before hitting it hard.4kWp, Panels: 16 Hyundai HIS250MG, Inverter: SMA Sunny Boy 4000TLLocation: Bedford, Roof: South East facing, 20 degree pitch20kWh Pylontech US5000 batteries, Lux AC inverter,Skoda Enyaq iV80, TADO Central Heating control0

Looks like HSBC is no longer the common link.....
If any of the affected are PAYM users what networks are you on? I'm on Orange.....
Just wondering whether this might be another common factor..

I've just seen that I have had £30 debited from MIPAY from my First Direct HSBC account on 9 April. Seems that they are aware of this so why let transactions through?0

My Visa card was hit on April 09. My bank (BB&T) Caught it and notified me immediately.0

Hi all
The same thing happened to me today - £30 debited from my HSBC account for MIPAY TALKMOBILE T BROOKWOOD SUR.
Talkmobile top ups only available in certain places & I reckon my card was "cloned" at the 99p store.
Just posting in case anyone else might be trying to figure out where the fraudster got our card details.
Other shops where Talkmobile top-ups are available are Spar, ASDA, CarphoneWarehouse, Phones4U, Staples & 99p stores.
Hope you got your money back - HSBC guaranteed my charge would be reversed within 48 hours.

HSBC too, but used carphone warehouse in Ealing for the 1st time this weekend to buy a memory card and had £30 charged as per above on the same day, it's clear to me that these people have hacked into CW's system....:mad:0

I too have had £30 taken from my HSBC account on 9th April. Have spoken to HSBC and they have cancelled my card and are investigating so I can get my money back. I just hope they are able to see the link between everyones cases so we all get our money back asap.
Went on to the MIPay website and it looked so dodgy then called the number and it sounded even more dodgy. Fingers crossed everyone gets there money back. I have also used a Spar shop recently???0 -
One of these charges has also appeared on my RBS account. It has a description of MIPAY TALKMOBILE T BROOKWOOD SUR and is also for £30. The money was taken at 06.27 on Friday 10 April (Good Friday) but due to the bank holidays didn't show in my account yesterday (14 Apr). I have reported it to RBS and filled in a fraud form and am now waiting to hear back from their Fraud Team. I have also had the card detroyed and am waiting for a new one.........I supose that's one way to save money as I can't buy anything until the new card arrives!!
This probably sounds awful but I'm quite glad to hear that this has also been happening to other people and not just me!0 -
im natwest and i have been charged £30 on the 6th of april too, and im not even on t mobile and ive never used my card to top up. and being unemployed at the moment i could do without this!.0

Just phoned the HSBC after seeing the MIPAY TALKMOBILE charge on my account. Rather alarmed to find that HSBC said the wrong card details were given but they still let the payment through?
Crap timing coming just two days after my other HSBC account was emptied in the Philippines!
So two accounts, no cards, no money.
Anyone else thinking of keeping their money in a box under the bed :rolleyes:0
