Not really sure you are getting to get the quality buying the MP3 versions!

The critics are raving about the quality from the CDs...

    I find this incredibly sad.

When I was but a callow youth and this music was first produced I may well have appreciated the better quality.

Now I am older with cloth ears and will probably not be able to notice the difference. :(

I would love some feedback on the new stereo release (out today!) if anyone has bought it.

Exactly which remastered albums have been released today?

    a) I like to listen to 1 full Beatles album once every 6 months (probably due overexposure on the radio over the years).

    b) Also I'd very much like to purchase individual tracks to make up a unique album.

for (a) Beatles CDs are far too expensive
for (b) I assume that iTumes or Amazon dwnloads don't exist yet?

Here's a link about the Remasters (being released today 09/09/09): http://www.beatles.com/#/news/The_Beatles_Remastered2/

You can get box sets and also buy the individual albums.

They sound fabulous. I'm hearing little things I've never heard before, and I must have heard every Beatles song at least 1,000 times.

Paul McCartney even played the bass guitar on some of them!

    Who knew? :p

Thanks for the feedback! And is that definitely the stereo one you got, not the mono?

I didn't know Paul played the bass guitar until I saw the recent documentaries on BBC2 where he seemed to be playing it all the time in the early days. Who played it later on then?

Yes, it's the stereo. I really want to get the mono though; IMHO their earlier albums sound much better in mono. From Sgt Pepper's onwards though, it's a toss-up as to which version is better.

Paul played the bass guitar all the time (though he also played guitar on some tracks, and piano of course). I was just joking that one can actually hear it now!

Haha...OK Marty I'm not very good with irony:)

I ordered Please Please me, Help, Hard Day's Night, Revolver and Rubber Soul on stereo...hope I made the right decision. I like the Beatles but I'm not quite aficionado enough to buy the mono version as well!!

They all sound wonderful, so I don't think you'll be disappointed. :D
