how to make a call from 1899?

Be careful here. The 0207 number is a London number and you would incur a charge as though it was a UK national number, plus the charge from 1899.com for the USA portion of the call. Using the 0808 number you would not incur this charge because it is a freephone number.

Sorry Steve, I just checked that and they give that number for using with a mobile. I should have read it all properly. I will now edit my post to remove that number.

To be clear - you should use the 0808 (freephone) number if you are an Orange contract customer on one of their own tariffs. Making a call from Orange would show as a zero costed call on your Orange bill and you would be charged at the prevailing rate for the call by 18866 or 1899.com.

Freephone numbers are NOT free when calling from mobile networks, with the exception of Orange. Even then, if Orange realise you are 'onward dialling' they will charge you for a standard call. However, when this is the case they usually advise you at the point of dialling by saying "this call is to a calling card service".........

If you are one of the other mobile networks customers you should probably use the 0207 London number and calls to this would be regarded as part of your bundled minutes.

Landlines
If you are a BT customer you should dial the 18866 access code prior to the full subscriber number.

If you are a non BT customer you should use the 0808 freephone access. If you use the 0207 London number access you would incur a charge from your service provider for a call made to a London number and a simultaneous charge would be levied by 18866/1899.com for the onward portion of the call.

The 1899.com London access number is 020 7001 9797. But be aware that to be able to use it, you must first register with 1899.com, using your credit card.

but my problem stays there...i have nt dialled the 0207 no. because it will cost me, but what about the msg. which i am getting again & again...i have wriiten a complaint to 1899 & they have just told me to dial 0808 no. followed by 001 and then the destination no.I have tried it yesterday so many times but its not working...what should i do?

I can only suggest again that you try dialing a number in the UK to check to see that 1899 is working for you and then perhaps check that the US number you are dialing is correct? I suggest this as you were trying to dial it without the 001, have you used this particular number before via Telewest and did it work?

I won't give up on you but beginning to run out of ideas ;D
