not sure if it works on undies but my work shirts were looking a bit dull and a soak in napisan bought back that blue whiteness.0

Thriftylady wrote:years ago I used to volunteer in a fair trade charity shop and they sold the whole range of Ecover cleaning products. They had a whitening product which was fantastic, and I would imagine being Ecover that it was bleach free....the only problem is that I can't remember what it was called, I have no idea if they still make it, and I have no idea where you could buy it if they did......so overall I'm not much help really!
Ecover Laundry Bleach - can't help with where to get it though - soz0 -
I got told that if you hang whites in bright sunshine, it helps to keep them white. Not sure how true that is though!0

There's stuff called Net Curtain whitener that works well on bras too. Think Sainsbury's stock it - usually up with the colour run remover and that sort of thing.0

Have you tried soaking them in sodium bicarbonate - it helps my daughter's socks!I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.

Morrisons do the net curtain whitener as well, and I think Semi-Chem do. You can probably get it in any major supermarket. I keep machine washing my bras too, so I find it quite useful! I've never tried bleaching them - I haven't tried bleach on anything other than cotton or cotton/polyester mix. I don't think it would be a good idea for bras.0

I have soaked a bra in bleach before, and surprisingly it did nothing to whiten it!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Nappi-san, which is a nappy whitener, brings white underwear up a treat. I also use normal thin bleach from time to time - Tesco's own brand has instructions on the side of a bottle for using it for whitening laundry.
Apparently fabric conditioner contributes significantly to whites going grey so I don't add it to my whites wash.0 -

No, bleach removes stains but does not provide that brilliant white sparkle. In fact it tends to make white garments ever so slightly yellow after a while. The net curtain whitener is the best bet for white bras.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
