oh well if its too good to be true it usually is!
However I don't understand that when there is a mis price in a shop they have to honour it for you and sell it to you at that price. However on the internet they don't. Both are caused by system errors as nearly all retailers use computers for their pricing? So why the different rules?0 -
As far as I know no-one has to sell you anything, when I worked in retail you could refuse to sell someone an item by taking it off sale totally, as far as my understanding went, is this still correct?
A lot of retailers will honour mistakes to save face and customers, but when so many people ring them up and basically say, ooo, look at that error, then they aren't going to honour diddly squat.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
I agree too !
It never ceases to amaze me when this happens the number of people that ring them up, even well experianced MSE'ers
I can understand newbies doing it but not the experianced ones
The people I feel sorry for are the OP's who end up having their order cancelled too because they had the heart to let others know about it.
It has taught me a lesson in the past that if I was lucky enough to stumble on a similar deal myself the last thing I would do is post it on here untill I had received it
No doubt this thread will go the same way as the B&Q Garden Office and Asda TV's and recently B&Q Zanussi Dishwashers etc etc etc. The orders will be cancelled, people will get upset after money taken from accounts, legal action will be threatened, screenshots will be taken, people will be phoning CAB's and getting in touch with local MP's............
Meanwhile poor old OP never gets his item
oh i reemmber the B&Q garden shed lol that went on for ages people trying to take it furtherInside me lives a skinny woman crying to get out - but I can usually shut her up with cake!0 -

Thanks for posting this - didnt want to see it, but at least I wont have my hopes up overnight!
I am sorry that you havent had your order honoured and thank you again (I have clicked your button) for posting your find in the first place.
I have seen that Argos were selling the same bed for approx £600 (reduced from £1,300 they said), so to get it for £153 (-20% off and 6% back via Quidco) would be a dream come true -
Disappointment all round eh?
Ah well, I shall have to eat one of my Cadburys Collection Easter Eggs to console myself!

I had an altercation in the old Safeways ( corned beef sel one price till another) and a bossy little madam told me they don't have to sell at the shelf price it was only "an invitation to tort". Didn't go there for months afterwards...0 -

oh B U M................... thought this would probably happen!
MSE lesson one - if you see an offer of a 'good' price online, either wait until you have received one yourself before posting or if you are not the OP DON'T PHONE UP TO CHECK.
THanks
Mamburysealed pot challange #572!Garden fund - £0!!:D£0/£10k0 -
Can I just say that I NEVER ordered one so I didn't phone up BUT phoning up does not make it worse the actual system flags it up not the phone operators. Besides 99.9% of the phone operators couldn't give a flying toss if you got a bargain or not....Someone working in for littlewoods/kays told me that on my bebo ages ago!!! lolYou may walk and you may run

I think 'it is invitation to treat'2 angels in heaven :A0 -
As far as I know, it is only an OFFER to sell UNTIL the seller confirms it. As soon as you have the order confirmed in writing (an e-mail) then they are bound by law to honour it. That's what I've always known.
We have an e-mail confirmation so if they try and cancel our order I'll be looking into that.Rocky.0 -

sadly that's not true. check the old B&Q/luxury Panasonic items for 1p threads for pages and pages of legal info on why this is not true, or take my word for it."Sealed Pot challenge" member No.1378 -
