I have a SN41G2 shuttle pc with
  • 512mb of ram (shared with inbuild graphics card)
  • 128mb Geforce 4mx graphics card inbuilt
Should I upgrade both my ram and card?

Any ideas of anything good to get?

Depends what you want to do?

Do you play the latest games? How many RAM slots does your shuttle have? How many are already used?

Make sure the shuttle has a graphics slot too, and the onboard graphics can be disabled.

Forgot to say I want to surf etc and play The Sims 2, including all expansions packs which currently kills my machine. It makes it so painfully slow.

    Model: SN41G2

It has 2 slots for Ram max 2gb. Both currently used so I was hoping to replace the existing RAM.

I am hoping I can disable the current graphics card although I am not sure how I would do this?

So yes, you can upgrade to a AGP graphics card taking a whole lot of load from your RAM. If you are only playing Sims I wouldnt go for owt too flashy though, I'd increase your rAM to 1gig if possible. Not sure what your FSB is running at though so we need to know that until we can look for deals. I think the 6600GT AGP is a good buy, I have one and it runs new games on fairly high detail.

and because your mobo is a Nforce2 you may find that it does dual channel. So you could look at getting 2x512mb RAM in dual channel.

    RAM http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=55296

People will find better deals, just a question of spending time looking for special deals etc.
