Something tells me that we will see a new offer on this soon, as the "free double memory at £40 more than the 256MB version was" offer is due to end soon :)

Sorry if this has been posted, but the Inspiron 1300 bargain is back, starting from £288 online. Use e-value: UKDHSONL-N03135 and as usual, reduce the warranty to 90-day collect & return.

    60W AC Adapter
PC Restore recovery system by Symantec
    Dell Internet Order.
    English - Adobe Reader 6.0
    90-Day Collect and Return service
    List N03135 - DHS 1300 Good
    System Documentation
Internal 56K v.92 Capable Fax Modem
    Dell™ Wireless 1370 802.11b/g Mini PCI Card
    4 Cell 29Whr Primary Battery
    Inspiron Order - UK
8X DVD+/-RW with Software (No Media)
Dell Media Experience 3.1 Basic - Inspiron
    Internal Keyboard - UK/Ire (QWERTY)
    No Resource CD

Update: Just after I posted this, someone from the other forum found a much better deal .. £239 if you don't mind the wifi and dvd+/-rw .. use UKDHSONL-N03135a instead.

Still waiting for a good promotion price for either 630m or 6400 ..
  • Thanks for the post wiraone. I have finally relented & ordered one of these through your second code. The main advantage of using that code is the option to choose the 6 cell battery, the option isn't there for the other e-code. The drive is the combo cdrw/dvd(read) but that's alright to me, I have a desktop for dvd burning purposes.

Total paid £321 (through quidco - I just joined up) and the main options I chose were 15.4" screen, 6 cell battery, wireless adapter (as you said, this is not included, £35 is a p/take but it looks better than a usb one hanging out the side).

I'm pleased with what I've chosen, it will make a great partnership with my antler leather case :)

There is no PCMCIA card slot, so a card will not work.

If you have a USB Wi-Fi adapter then, no problem.

personally i would try and get the wifi since a usb adapter will stick out and for a laptop wont be ideal if you going to continously move around with it. Usb adapter can be brought for around £20

Damn. I was annoyed that I dithered over this so I made an order, now I wish I'd dithered some more! I was going to order some memory through lowestonweb, so including that cost, the system I've ordered would be +256MB ram but -dvdr for the sameish price as the one you're quoting. Plus I would get 4.5% back on the full £350 through your code. Don't know whether to cancel & start again or be happy with what I've ordered.

Other posters have changed their orders when this has happened why don't you ring up and try to modify the order?
