Worst is you can't see what activity that person is carrying out............(now that is a real issue that seriously does need addressing, especially with the delay between private message posting)

Yep. VERY annoying for that to be missing. :(

There was never going to be many changes that you would see, it was what they call a back end upgrade which all takes time because of the sheer size of this forum and the special additions that MSE uses. Read what Martin says about it here..

See fermi's post for the more technical reply :)

I have logged out and in again, but I am getting an intermittent problem where when I thank someone for a post I get the message

loobs40, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
    1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
    2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
When I go back into the thread, the 'Thanks' has been applied correctly.

Additionally, when I press Thanks and I don't get the error message above, the page refreshes unnecessarily

im still having this problem to, especially on the competitions board. It doesn't tend to happen on the laptop though just on the PC but i like doing the comps on the pc so this is really quite annoying. sorry just my only issue
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

Not sure if this issue is to do with the upgrade but I suspect it's a glitch.

A user pm'd me today after having problems posting on the grabbit board. The user is new & was trying to post a new thread, she got the pop up are you sure you want to post.......... (that is unique to the grabbit board) but each time she clicked on yes the content had disappeared. However she had no problems posting a new thread here on the site feedback board(which I moved over to the grabbit board for her) which is very strange:confused:

Got my first annoying problem since the upgrade.

Sometimes when I post a reply it logs me out when I hit submit!! Very annoying as then the reply is lost and I have to start over.

Never had this happen before the upgrade, only since.

Ok further info I have figured out since this post I made earlier.
The above seems to only happen if I have to spend time on making a post, say more than a couple of minutes.
If I hit reply then post within a minute it posts ok.

    Hi.
Yes cookies are cleared regularly. Maybe its because I'm not ticking the remember me box. I had wondered if that was the problem. I stopped ticking it because I kept forgetting to log off everytime, not ticking remember me logs off when I close the window.

I'll try ticking it and see if it helps.....then try to remember to log off every night :D

I've been having problems with the edit function since the upgrade. Standard editing is fine but I can't use advance editing I get the following message
Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

This is a useful function to have especially when wanting to edit the title of a thread/post (ie comp end dates). I currently use Firefox 3.0.8
