Well I have found out mine..gulp feel a bit better now! I forgot that I am on a online capped tariff and paying through the roof for it £98 a month so I am currently £244.12 in credit :) although I have just updated readings so that will come down

I only ever used to pay around £40 a month until taking Martins advice swapped to a fixed capped rate and then it started coming down in price...typical. Oh well only another year stuck in it!

I've just thought it through again - she said if I coud pay off this quarters it would be £60 per month. I only joined them in September - perhaps I've been underpaying since I joined (although I've only paid what they said I needed to!) - if the DD had been higher to start with - ie £60 per month, the bill this quarter would have been around £100 or so less than it is as I would have been paying more towards it.

At least the lights don't need to be on until 8 or so now and the heating isn't needed. When I feel a bit less stressed about it and I've stopped eating my way through the fridge (currently munching a plate of tomato and salad cream sandwiches) I'll get my head together and do some ebay listing. Maybe I should start a thread about it, it might keep me focused....

they used that excuse with me too BB, and my friend got hit with a horrendous dual fuel bill for the same reason. They had been taking payments for 2 years at roughly the same level. She phoned up to complain and they said it was her fault.

dont see how, as they were able to see her usage so they should have adjusted it far earlier for her

How old are you Snags??? I can't see 44 being too old for you?? I don't think about the age difference between me and OH - well unless I want to have a dig and I say stuff like 'oh I don't remember that, I was only 6 at the time'.....knowing that he was 18, it keeps him feeling old rather than all this rubbish about he reckons he's only 35.......:rotfl:
