I;m just not sure how I'd do it Maz. It's a Monday night at 7.15 on theother side of town to here. I work till 6ish but I have the kids coz DH is in bed.

Hmmm. I'll have a think

Just spoken to OH and he says the loft is already insulated to an ok standard so that's another thing that I can't improve on.

Ah well, grin and bear it for this quarter, work a bit harder to earn a few more pennies and see how it stands in 3 months time. With the extra £65 I'm also paying in tax each month for the coming year (my self employed tax for last year split over 12 months) that's an extra £115 a month I now need to find............christ.......... :(

!!!!!!...........I've just put my meter readings in so it's not an estimated bill and the real bill is £314 and my DD payments will now be £92............I haven't felt this way about money since I was tackling my debts, I could cry and my head hurts. I need urgently to get a full time job plus the teaching rather than 3 part time ones. Or work harder on AQA. It's getting to the stage where I can no longer cope on a single salary.

:grouphug: BB - is it £314 for the quarter? If so, £92 is going to be too much surely, because you'll use much less over the coming months. If you ring them, they might agree to put it up by a smaller amount so you pay it off more slowly. I know it means you will owe them money for longer, but as they're not charging you interest I wouldn't worry.

If not, could you use a lump sum from your savings to pay a chunk of it off, so they will leave your payments the same (I know that will actually cost more in the long run as you will lose the interest, but if it's your month to month bills you're worried about, it might be an option?).

If you don't want to touch savings, what about doing one of the challenges to raise the money for it?

Hope you're okay hunny - pm me if you want a chat, I can easily sign onto MSN (and I have mucho gossip that will take your mind off it for a bit at least! :o)

I've tried to get through to speak to them and I just end up going round in circles on the automated system :( I'm already hitting my savings each month just to pay the bills, it just adds to the pressure really.

I could sign up to a challenge.......perhaps an ebay related one......I don't think I will have any teaching this term other than 6 hours at the beginning of the term (which means even less salary) so I will only have the 2 jobs to think about so I might have some time to sort out a load of stuff to ebay. Well, I say a load of stuff, it will all be clothing - I ebayed everything of any value when I was paying off my debt!

I'm ok, just want to cry to be honest, it's one of those real at the bottom of the pit feelings. I feel a bit stuck and I know what my OH's reply will be - go and get a job in PR again which is the sensible option but will have me crawling the walls within 6 months - that's if I can even get one around here - they were rare before the recession!
