Lol, how much pay for not answering calls, best dust off my c.v im obviously in the wrong job.
Give it about 5 weeks and they should have employed the new staff and trained them up so they might be a little bit quicker answering the phones.
If I was being cynical you might suspect they are just replacing staff that had just got fed up with answering the phones to angry people and left0 -
My sister had her car stolen a year ago, she has a 9 year old son who is autistic and needs her car deperately, as he is unable to travel on Public transport. SHE HAS STILL NOT BEEN PAID OUT, although they had agreed the final settlement back in November with the finance company.
They have had so many complaints and we are now having to go to the FSA and are even considering the police because there is still nearly £6k outstanding on the car and the finance compnay have sent our 28 emails with not one response! So currently my sister cannot afford to get another car until the HP is settled up!
This company is diabolical and considering they appear first on go compare website, I would advise all to ignore their "unbeatable" quote and go for the next insurance company quoted.0 -

Have a read of this from the Insurance Ombudsman
15. loss of use and courtesy cars
Usually the policyholder is entitled to a courtesy car only where the policy specifically provides for it. Even where the policy does provide for a courtesy car, this will usually be in limited circumstances (for example, whilst repairs are carried out by a repairer approved by the insurer) that do not apply where a vehicle is "written-off". This often comes as a surprise and disappointment to the policyholder.
Usually we only award the policyholder compensation for loss of use of the vehicle where the insurer unreasonably delays, or wrongly declines, the claim. Exceptionally, we may say that the insurer should compensate the policyholder for loss of use where:
the insurer’s overall presentation of the policy gave the consumer a legitimate expectation that a courtesy car (or compensation for loss of use) would be provided; or
the claim was badly administered (for example, the insurer initially took the car to be repaired, delayed several weeks and then decided it was a "write-off" after all).
Where we consider it fair for the insurer to compensate the policyholder for loss of use:
If the policyholder hired a car for this period, we might require the insurer to refund the hire-car charges (plus interest).
If the policyholder did not hire a car, we might require the insurer to pay compensation for other reasonable transport expenses incurred plus inconvenience caused by lack of a car.
If we award compensation for inconvenience caused by lack of a car, we tend to award around £10 per day, if it had a material effect on the policyholder, and depending on the individual circumstances – for example, whether the policyholder had "free" access to another vehicle, availability of public transport etc.

They are a broker now days so offer policies from other Insurers so have a look to see which Insurer they are quoting you with.
P.S Hasting were no where near as bad as 1st Central only Tradex and Quinn give 1st Central a run for their money. Hastings as Insurer were a standard cheap and cheerful insurer with below average levels of cover which allowed them to offer the cheap premiums.0 -
omg even quinn direct are cheap cheerful quotes? i was going to get quoted by them as they are meant to be good for young drivers. is there anyone else you reccommend? see my attached post if you think you can help? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2355797
thanks x0 -
Quinn don't have the same customer services problems and really long delays in paying claims that 1st central do. They simply have poor cover, admin fees, lots of small print and do their best to pay as little for claims. If you imagine how an insurance company would be if Ryan Air made on you have an idea of Quinn.
Do you have a provisional licence?0
