Hey everyoneeeee! firstly i hate insurance i only have it because you have to by law lol! who agrees! if i had an accident i probly wouldnt claim cus it would cost me all my limbs the following year haha!
ABOUT ME!
Im 22 jus turned in Feb! I drive a VW Golf 1.4s 2006, Main User, Sometimes I include my mom on my policy depending on quote! I normally estimate 3-4000 miles a year, parked overnight in a driveaway, and is not modified, no claims convictions nothing! I Work as a telesales person in an Insurance company and I have also become a full time student at uni, living from home! I have had my license since august 2007, but i have 4 years no claims bonus (NCB)! confused? lol
MY INSURANCE HISTORY
Basically to explain the above, my first policy was for 6 months on a S reg corsa which was a bonus accelerator policy and that gave me 2 years no claims bonus which cost me £1000 for 6 mths!
The following year i took out a normal 1 year policy gained 1 year NCB! that cost me around £700
Last year I changed to the golf and got insurance through CO-OP through a financial advisor broker and only paid £642.
Now my renewal has come from co-op quoting £1096, with 4 yrs NCB, and 2 1/2 yrs full driving license!
WHAT I NORMALLY DO FOR SEARCHING CAR INSURANCE!
I have read martins guide but generally i have found in the past internet quotes are more expensive than phone quotes and for me it has been worth taking taking that extra time to ring to save that extra money!
Also being the fact that internet quotes dont usually allow me to put 4 yrs NCB and 2 1/2 yrs license that doesnt help!
1. What I normally do is ring around all the main insurers, I have a long list of numbers, companies and flyers and renewal letters lol! and then i just ring them all up one by one lol! I will get quotes with me and my mom and then without her! it does vary and sometimes can be cheap and also more expensive, but i am the main user!
2. after doing those i will do martins idea and do the internet ones to see if anything beats them.
3. i usualy take the lowest three quotes and try to barter over the phone.
4. i take out the policy and think about what i couldve spent my money on lol! (we all hate it, we know we do!)
ADVICE
I would just like to know if anyone recommends anything else that i may have missed out on? this year i will try the cashback thing if online! am i missing out anything? or doing anything wrong? and is there any other ways i can make it cheaper? any suggestions are welcome, thank you all for reading
All replies will be appreciated thanks x

In terms of insurance, all the info you need is available on this forum to read.
In terms of punctuation, there are other things than exclamation marks. Full stops for example.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -

The young lad comes on here to try to discuss his car insurance andd from you he gets a lesson in his grammer/punctuation?
Do you really think he needed that ?
The phrase if you have nothing useful to say then saying NOTHING springs to mind...........
Another pointless post !0 -

Iamanalias........ some people want to grow up and get a life !!!!
Have you nothing better to do than sit and watch for spaces between question marks and exclamation marks ?
DEARY .........HOW SAD !0 -
LOLLLLLLLLLL thanks for the grammar lesson il be sure to catch up on that once ive eaten my heart out on all these insurance quotes im getting.
So is there any other advice lol?
the best quote ive been given so far is admiral multicar policy for me its £750 and £300 for my mom lol! her insurance last year was only £242.
Adrian flux, allen and allen, swinton, are all extremely expensive. (£1000-£1400)
Apparently one guy at allen and allen said all insurance premiums have gone up due to snow in dec/jan with loads of claims being made for accidents. hmmm0 -
I'm coming upto renewal with co-op, they told me their best renewal quote was the one they sent me (£423). I did the usual moneysupermarket etc and the cheapest was actually co-op at £380.
Went on quidco theres £55 cashback, did the quote again through quidco and came out with £367 with the cash back £312, exactly the same details. Phoned co-op to cancel their renewal, got a rather cocky young man trying to talk me out of it he wanted to know who i was going with as they were the cheapest around! lol.... explained them, and he was very sheepish and cancelled.
Give it a go!!!!! (apologies if my exclamations offend!!!!)0 -
Op, doesn't your employer offer a staff discount?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

I have been doing a lot of work involving quotes in the last couple of weeks. Have sorted out the van and now trying to sort out two cars, one for my daughter buying new car (lucky girl!). She is currently with one company that offers the 10 month accelerator (which we took out in December, ends October). I am not at all happy with the general comments on this company in the event of an accident, very important is to check about their use of a credit hire company, such as Drive Assist or Albany. They were the cheapest and in some cases you get what you pay for. I am very close to paying their admin. charge and taking the refund on the days outstanding and moving elsewhere for an extra cost, just for the peace of mind that she will have some decent service and none of the stress and aggro that appears the norm with the other company.
I think you need to look very carefully, in the event of a claim or problem you want a company who will hopefully deliver. I am aware that a lot of the reviews are negative but if you have a good read on MSE, even typing in the specific company you are looking at you are bound to find some helpful comments. You can even private message contributors for extra insight! Good luck!0 -

!
You won't get a full refund for the remainder of the policy.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

Aaron.
Try budget car insurance on the web or give them a call on 08000720644.
For me they were by far the cheapest.0
