Hey everyone right i have some new news lol! From since i last spoke i got a new quote off co-op which was a waste of time being that they quoted me more expensive lol!
But 'brodiebobs' if your going to continue with your co-op insurance u myt get another £20 cashback, basically i took out mine last yr march and got my mom to join and they sent us both £20 each. now she stil is with co-op til June, so once u joined them and have ur quidco cashback then if ur interested pm me ur details like a policy number once u have the policy for a certain amount of time, they will hopefully send us both a cheque for £20 each! im not sure if it will work with quidco cashback already been given but hey its worth a try, if ur interested let me know pm me! x
'iamana1ias' - i dont work for a car insurance company i work for house insurance company for like boilers, plumbin and electrics otherwise i wouldve tried asking them lol
'karena' hey thanks for your information i appreciate that and will bare that in mind, when i have decided which company i choose.
'Joane d' hey thanks yeah because ive been doing all quotes via phone it has taken me three days lol to get through how ever many companies lol while balancing work. i will be trying budget car insurance tommorrow in the past im sure they havent been the cheapest but i will certainly try. thanks
Thanks to all your replies everyone!
Right then, back to whats happened so far...
currently i have gone through 30 different companies lol!!!
i have covered a long list including private and small companies and brokers to well known ones including, swinton, CIS, hastings, direct line, aviva, LV, AA, privilege, churchill, more than, RAC, adrian flux.
while searching through these companies i have narrowed it down to 5 main companies.
1. hastings direct £590 protected NCB (P-NCB) £425 accidental damage
£521 Non-Protected NCB (NP-NCB) £350 accidental damage
2. Allen + Allen £691 NP-NCB £400 Exc (This company owns prestige insurance which is the company i used not this year gone but the previous, so i rang them stated i use to be covered with them and they gave me this competitive quote, i quoted my old policy number)
3. Selecta Insurance broker with Aviva ins company £774 NP-NCB £450 exc
4. Admiral multi car my car 773 NP-NCB for 1 year and my moms car from june til march = £317 so in total £1000 for both til march
5. Aviva direct £774. cant remember if protected or not or the excess.
so everyone is there anything else you reccommend to cut these down or? i dno if it would work through cashback sites, and like Karena said im not sure what these companies will be like on claims.
I stil do need to contact a few companies i have missed out like budget, and a few other young driver companies from the Drive-on magazine.

Now my renewal has come from co-op quoting £1096, with 4 yrs NCB, and 2 1/2 yrs full driving license!
Word of advise here, claim you have 2 years NCB. If you like call up 6 months in and say you actually had 3 and it was a mistake, you may get some money back. Not sure on the legality of that mind!
Why? Many insurers reject any risk with more NCB than years licence held. It looks like fraud. In the case the insurer actually takes you, they cap the maximum NCB against the length you held your license. So you will only be getting the discount for 2 years NCB. Putting in 2 years will result in a wider range of quotes, which may bring up a cheaper quote.Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Insurers.
I used to work for a software house dealing with insurance quotations, so I know quite a lot about a few insurers!0 -
Try Llyods car insurance they have been cheapest for me, the application for quote is quite short as well.

hey 'millionaire' thanks i will also be ringing lloyds tommorrow, so i will update anyone on anymore quotes i get.
hey 'ninethreenine' hmmmm i dont know that sounds abit illegal lol and i would also lose 1 of my yrs NCB wouldnt i? whats the chances of them saying after 6 mths ok thats fine we will update your quote and refund you the difference? because then i have given false innaccurate information haven't i? most companies i seem to ring query why i have more ncb than license and ask is it because i was insured on provisional license? i say no it was bonus accelarator policies and say my last renewal from co-op can prove this. they then say its fine lol. hmmm
Also does anyone know if i start commuting to work how much does that increase a premium by? make much difference or?0 -

Hey Everyone just an update firstly thank you all for your help i was doing really well until 'Hastings Direct' said the £591 quote was not valid! apparently it expired and the price was not guaranteed i was well p***** off! lol
Anyways ive had to cough up £691 with a £400 excess its not protected but it does have legal protection and coutesy car. me and my mom on the policy. its with Allen & Allen, i rang them as i mentioned in an earlier post they use to be my previous years insurer and they seem to have won me back this year lol! lets hope i have no problems!
Just to let you all know, after doing all my phone quotes with around 40 companies in total (some of which i rang a few times on different numbers), i then followed martins guide and unfortunately the internet quotes were not any cheaper for me the cheapest quotes online were coming out around £800 with £400 excess as minimum.
Good Luck to any one searching for insurance i hope you have better luck than i lol! thanks again everyone!0
