feelie, isn't that what "active labour" means - the whole being able to move about not being stuck on a bed and how it helps move things along? Or is the bouncing on a birthing ball just a gravity thing?
How's your OH? Got himself out of bed now?
Yup, he is out of bed and has been very helpful. He read the 'birthing' chapter of one of my books and is now an expert - he asked if the contractions are lasting more than 45 seconds!
Would be amusing if this is early labour - he insisted I cut his hair so he'd look smart in the pictures with the new baby!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Phew, paperwork done, well almost but need to call them. Does anyone else find mortgage stuff scary, it's such large sums of money.
I do them for a living, and yes they are scary :rotfl:The two best things I have done with my life

Mrs T - lucky you, you get pregnant easily, so you have your own perspective.
Most people who conceive without difficulty would agree with you - but your perspective would change if you had spent years trying and failing to conceive.
When your heart is literally breaking because you want a child more than life itself, it's as much a health crisis as anything else.
And the choice isn't exactly cancern treatment v. IVF, is it?
After all, the NHS funds bunion operations, ear pinning, varicose veins - hardly life or death either?
Yes I have my own point of view - and honest? I don't particularly think bunion operations are life saving either...
But do I think that IVF should be paid for by an already struggling health service? No.
I didn't struggle to fall pregnant no - I know plenty of people who did (and all of whom incidently paid for their own IVF treatment) so I know from the sidelines the want they had for children of their own.
Long before DH and I were trying to get pregnant we had a discussion about IVF and what we'd do if we couldn't concieve naturally... not knowing if we could or not - and we decided then that if the only option would be IVF then we'd adopt instead. That was a choice made BEFORE we knew we could have our own (and yes there are reasons why we have that conversation - both through the female lines in my family and reasons on DHs side that I shan't bore you with).
I still stand by my views that those already born should surely take presedence over attempting to create new life - I also recognise that that view isn't shared by everyone, but when you have seen things too often from the "sorry there is a medication available but we can't afford it here" side then you probably invariably develop the view that people wanting should come after people needing.
Not having a child is probably devastating - you're right, I wouldn't know - but it is not lifethreatening.DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Been reading tonight but things were getting a bit heated so I didn't comment. Not being rude just sometimes don't really have a concrete opinion so a rare occasion to shut my mouth!!! :rotfl:Too many children, too little time!!!0 -

Good job you did it now.. imagine if things stepped up a gear and you'd got a bit too close and taken a chunk out of his head during a particularly surprising contraction! :eek:0
