chickpea, nice of you to join us on the pregnancy thread... It took me 6 years to concieve my daughter, I was told my chances of conceiving naturally were so slim I shouldn't even consider it an option... She was a very welcome surprise... But even in my darkest childless days I would not of expected IVF on the NHS...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Icecream is always available to share - help yourself! I'm currently trying to work out how many tubs I could fit in the freezer before it goes off special offer: it's my current favourite. I don't really need *that* many frozen vegetables, do I?0

I still giggle when I remember the doctor telling me that my periods had stopped because of my weight, as I'd been deemed to fat to concieve.
There was another explaination for the lack of periods, the throwing up, the tiredness and the heartburn!
Oh, and I had a box of dominos cookies last night, and a box for breakfast! They keep well, still gooey in the morning. I knew I should have got three boxes!Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Mrs T - lucky you, you get pregnant easily, so you have your own perspective.
Most people who conceive without difficulty would agree with you - but your perspective would change if you had spent years trying and failing to conceive.
When your heart is literally breaking because you want a child more than life itself, it's as much a health crisis as anything else.
And the choice isn't exactly cancern treatment v. IVF, is it?
After all, the NHS funds bunion operations, ear pinning, varicose veins - hardly life or death either?
There is a thread dedicated to this where opinions have been given already. Removing a bunion does not cost anywhere near what IVF treatment does so cannot be compared. You yourself have said you WANT a child more than life itself - as much as I feel for you a broken heart is not a clinical diagnosis and there is no treatment for it. I really don't mean for that to come across as harsh but I can't see how else to say it.
I don't disagree with IVF but I do think that life-threatening treatments should be funded before IVF.
As I said, there is a thread dedicated to this discussion - this is not the right place. Sorry but there are people on this thread who may not want to get involved.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

You don't need any frozen vegetables, fresh are far better
Actually, the only frozen veg I have are peas... And a bag of frozen peas can last me years... Can't stand them... Aimee has them as a snack now and again (straight from the freezer) but not too often because she's not sure whether she likes them herself either...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I am originally from Bangor, in County Down
I'm another NI'er now living on the mainland. But I was closer to you than Moneymaker, as I grew up in Banbridge in County Down. I knew Bangor reasonably well though, as my family used to play tennis at the tennis club there from time to time.
Bet if you, mm and me got talking on a separate thread, we'd end up finding someone we all know in common! I've never ever met anyone from NI living in England where this has happened0 -
