During my first pregnancy I used to eat melba toast and tintern cheddar to settle my stomach (not at the same time) and I have no idea why in particular it was tintern cheddar but no other cheese worked. I couldn't really eat anything else.

During my second I was sick far more and worse all day long and until 20 weeks. I couldn't find anything to stop it. My poor son was 2 and 1/2 and he used to get a bowl and pretend to be sick in it all the time copying me.

Hope it gets better soon, I hated the first few months it was horrible feeling sick day in and day out.

Hello people, time for me to stop lurking and crawl officially into the forum ....

I'm pregnant!!!! Wooohooo!!! This is kinda an unofficial "MSE baby", as both myself & Marleyboy (the proud dad) are regular posters in various other places on this site - I normally live in the Arms, he's a crusader in the consumer rights area.

I guess that means somebody had better add me to the list of expectant Mums ... edd is 1st November, though I have a sneaky suspicion this babe will appear on Hallowe'en like a gruesome thing :rotfl:

Please I need someones advise, I'm 8-9 weeks pregnant now & today I've started bleeding. It started lightly at about 1pm & its now getting heavier & I have dragging sensations, like period pains, but they're not very painful as such yet. My OH rang the midwife for me as I was out & she said I have to see the doctor, I have an appointment for an hours time but I don't see what going to the doctors is going to do! They can't scan or use a doppler or anything & I haven't even seen a midwife or a doctor yet in this pregnancy. I don't know what to do, I can't stop crying - I'm so worried. I just want some one to do a scan now & tell me one way or the other.

Everybody seems to be really productive today, I just seem to be waddling round fetching Aimee drinks... Apart from that haven't left the sofa... Got to go and do lunch now though... He highness wants cucumber sandwiches... Very la di da...

    Not everyone...lol!!!!!

I have been sat here for hours as I really can't be bothered at all. I've managed to wash the pots and tidy the kitchen a bit and that's about it. I'm sure that I would probably still be sat here in my scruffs if it weren't for the fact that the midwife visited me at home this morning :o:o

She told me that the head is now fully engaged. No wonder I'm on the loo every 5 mins!!!!!!

    Thanks Kathy.

And I just want to say a huge thank you to everybody in this thread, I've been lurking for a couple of weeks, and you've already provided sooooo much useful information and links in that time :)

    Welcome Tigster!

Nickabella - I haven't got anything useful to add. Fingers crossed everything is OK! I think it needs to be your GP that refers you for an early scan. Mine did, he referred me to the EPAU at the hospital. Hugs!

Your Dr will refer you to your local early pregnancy assesment unit for a scan hun, I had to be referred at 11 weeks by my Dr, ((hugs)) for you, I hope everything works out ok for you xx
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thank you for your replies. Do you think if I get referred the scan will be tomorrow or do you end up having to wait days for it not knowing. Thank you for your hugs, my OH is on his way home (1.5 hour journey) & I can't face telling my family or anyone. I was out with my friend when it started & it took me half an hour before I could tell her. I want everthing to be ok so much but feel in my heart that it isn't going to be.
