you're not the only one who hasnt done much, ive got the flylady thread open in another tab so the good intentions are there but i really cant be bothered!0 -
I could have started Maternity leave by now but I'm gonna try my best to hold out as long as I can. 6 weeks at 90% pay just isn't very long and I want as much time with baby as I can before I have to go back to work. It all sucks! Wish I could stay home for good.
I think we should get paid for being mums
I read something before saying that if mums did get paid they would get over £30,000 a year:eek:

Just eating the last of my banana loaf... I seem to be the only one who actually appreciated my efforts... Aimee had 1 tiny fairy bite and declared she didn't like it... Hubby ate a slice and said it was 'ok'... I think it's lovely! There's 2 bananas looking very speckly in the fruit bowl now so might have to make another one tomorrow
Dawn, don't worry about the furniture, I bought Aimee the cheapest white stuff from Argos when she was born... Someone bought her some more expensive stuff 12 months later and I had the cheap stuff for my clothes... 5 years later I've just given it to my cousin for her new flat and it's still perfect! The expensive chest of drawers in Aimee's room is slowly starting to drop apart though...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thanks Krystal hope it will last at least 4-5 years, just with this one being a surprise we don't have a baby budget.
Keep thinking about joining the ebay club....... I will get there lol.DS 16/04/1989DD 22/02/1994:TDS 07/08/2009:j0 -
Lol, mine wasn't a surprise but we still don't have a budget as such... It will just have to fit in with what we've got already...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... fairydawn - welcome to team blue!!!
Krystaltips - oooh - I love banana bread/loaf - DD makes it regularly, and DS absolutely loves it! We usually have a loaf or two wrapped up in the freezer as well!
I made a few purchases in Boots this morning with the points off my card - just a pack of newborn dummies and a box of Boots cold water steriliser tablets. But all these little things add up. I think for the most part we have everything we'll need, except for nursing and maternity pads. I'll have to update my list on my computer to double check.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
Hi all,
Hope you are all well - labour vibes to all who need them. And big welcome to all the newbies.
I am not "officially" telling work I am pregnant until I am passed 12 weeks (21st April) then the can do a risk assessment (we have an occupational health dept who will do it). Although I am not anticipating any problems as I work 9-5 at a desk. The only thing maybe the heavy files I am constantly using?? So I really feel for those on shift work, have to stand for long hours and work in hot environments.
Am I weird that I have not even started looking at buying baby related things? I have no idea about prams, cots, etc. Although that might be partly to do with my wedding on 2 May, maybe once we get back from honeymoon then we can start thinking about it properly.
Hen party on Saturday night went well. i just drank lemonade and lime. When anyone asked if I wanted a drink who weren't aware that I was pregnant I just said I was fine for the moment. I even imitated drinking some sparkling wine then swapped it with my SIL to be who was sitting next to meThe only thing is I have another one this saturday - d'oh!
If anyone recalls me asking about the massage and spa day - I spoke to the place and they said they will adjust the massage to suit, and i can use the relaxation room and restaurant - so no spa for mebut pleased I didn't have to cancel it

Ok, I'm prob gonna gross everyone out a bit now but wondered if this has come up with anyone else. I've read that Chlamydia can affect a baby when he/she is born and am worried that I may be carrying it without knowing (past partners, definately not worried about my current boyfriend) I have no symptoms (but not everyone does) and have been with him for 18 months. Has anyone else had concerns like this. It seems strange to me that women aren't screened for it routinly when pregnant.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member No 19017/05/08 - Total on DMP: £10025.7007/05/14 - Total on DMP: £1666.20 DFD: July 2017!!Baby Tomos born 5th June 2009 - 6lb 5oz :jWeight Loss Target - to lose 60.8lb by NYE 2015 - 37.6lb TO GO0

Triggles, don't buy too many breastpads to start with... Your milk supply settles down to what baby needs and quiet a few women don't leak much after the first couple of weeks... I still have 50 left from I had Aimee... And I only bought 150...
I had my tax credits letter back in the post this morning that I sent off for my sure start grant... At least I know they got the forms.... Wish they'd of sent it back with a letter saying yay or nay though...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls...
