Anyone, any idea what kind of timescale do you think im looking at?
Thans again.:j
Hi there
May I just say this first.;)
If you in any financial hardship for example or personal issues, let the FOS know this and ask if they can consider this for fast tracking.
However, I understand there are many in this situation and a queing system for this as well, but it still helps.
The longest time would possibly be waiting for your case to be passed on to the adjudicator, so it could be weeks or months before this happens, due to the very large volumes of these complaints, I do understand they are regularly taking on new adjudicators to help with the workload as well.
As soon as its with the adjudicator, if all straight forward, your talking about 6-8 weeks, but longer if the other party does not agree and then the complaints are then moved on to the ombudsman himself.
Some are still waiting unfortunately, one of mine was about 14-15 months, but its diffiult to actually predict a timescale really and mine was classed a a complexed case.
Hope you hear sooner rather than later with a positive result, good luck and please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

and we need to pass a credit check to get the flat.:mad:0 -

Hi there
Did you request for fast tracking, due to your circumstances?
Well done on your new job, and hope you don't have to wait too long now, good luck.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi there, update time !!!
Got a call today from an adjudicator asigned to my case asking for more info about a few things
Called me back later in the the day to say that he agrees both PPI's were mis-sold, but that this isnt officially the final decicion, i cant remember what exactly he said but i think he said he would need to pass it on to the omudsman so that he could contact the bank to inform them of the decision.
Does this sound right?
I guess this realisticaly means that it will be another couple of months to get to the ombudsman, then another cople of months before any refund.
Thank you all though for the help, no way could i have done all this without you all.
I am doing similar for my girlfriends dad also, just received the SAR paperwork, soi may well hae another thrwad soo for that.;)0 -

Hi there
Thanks for your update.
It could have been a case worker you heard from and as they do tend to look into cases before its actually assigned to an adjudicator (in hope that its resolved) before going to that stage.
I may be wrong though.
Normally it can take some time from the start, the longest waiting is waiting for it to be passed on to the first stage, which would be an adjudicator.
Then the adjudicator write to the bank with a decision, they give them some time to get back to them and if ignored, then its normally passed on to the ombudsman, this again can take some time, but if it goes as far as the ombudsman stage, they can then request for further redress for you, for distress and inconvenience.
Hope you won't be waiting too long, fingers crossed.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Ok, another update.
The previous person i spoke to was the adjudicator assigned to my case, and in he says in his opinion i was mis-sold.
He wrote to tell the bank that he recommends they pay me (they sent a formula of the details) money owed plus £300 compensation.
Got another letter through saying the bank have failed to respond so, another review of the case will be done and everything passed to the ombudsman who may have a different decision to the adjudicator.
However the bank may still get into contact and resolve the situation before that happens.
I'm guessing that we are talking 6 months before i can get it in front of an ombudsman?
Thanks again.;)0 -

Hi there
Sorry to hear that, timescales can vary, but hopefully you won't be waiting too long and that it will be dealt with before the 6 months are up, fingers crossed.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Ok, basically i won, the Bank agreed to abide by the adjudicators decision.
The Adjudicator sent me an acceptance form, i signed and sent back to FOS.
Received a letter on the 10/8/10 from FOS saying they were happy it was settled and the acceptance and instructions had been sent to Lloyd's.
I contacted Lloyds today to chase them up, and they say they haven't received the form back from FOS, and that it will take 12 weeks from receipt of the form for them to work out calculations, then i will receive payment following that.
I contacted FOS again, and they have emailed Lloyds copies of the required forms and telling them the 12 weeks started on 10th not the date they claim to receive the forms.
Anyway, i'm glad i won, i just hope the settlement figure is accurate, otherwise i may still be here next year.
It's looking ike this money may appear nearer Christmas.:rotfl:
Anyway i will post the figures in the other thread when the appear.:T0
