Yes

Download malwarebytes to your other computer

Actually install it and goto UPDATE to see what the definiton file is

If its UNDER 1893 then download this ~

Download hijack too

Install malwarebytes and hijack to your computer (And run the other file if you needed it ~ it will auto update malwarebytes)

Scan with (FULL scan) malwarebytes and run hijack

ok am home and have downloaded all of the suggested stuff onto a pen and using other dodgy laptop...
major probs with other one which seems to have a blue screen error (whatever that is!) and now wont let me turn on...tried all modes (safe/normal etc) but it flashes blue screen quickly (cant therefore read what error is...) and then goes to windows screen, shuts down and goes back to blue screen flash again and into modes etc...
Am really worried that its compleatly f****; darent access bank accounts etc (even if I could get into it!) and cant run the virus things cos I cant get in...
Heeelp! Would help if I could get the blue screen to stop on the blue screen so I could tell you error message but dont know how to get it to stop on the screen!

Try booting up and keep pressing F8 to get into safe mode

tried that several times and it just goes back to the start again....literally cant get past the reboot/safe option page then list of stuff and back to the start again...???????????

Do you have the operating disc? If so then try and run a REPAIR

If not then you have the option of running a rescue disc (needs to be created)

will have to do rescue disk tom in work as cant access on other comp and disk drive not working on this one..:(

Any idea what wrong with the disc drive? ie ~ is it broke or are you simply missing a driver for it?

its on old lappy so unsure and not worth replacing...the one you assisted with last time!
Assuming I do get a recovery disk (will cost about 12) am I going to be able to load it in view of the fact that I cant get past the safe mode screen? Have no idea what a blue screen error is or how to get my comp to stay on the blue page to read the error message?

Youll need to go into BIOS (possibly ~ depends how its set now) and set the cd/dvd drive to BOOT 1st
Then you boot with the recovery disc in and 'press any key' when it asks

That should negate windows entirely and run the boot disc

(What EXACTLY will cost 12 quid??)
