I can't work Vanquis out.

I had one increase on statement 4 from £250 to £500, i have just got statement 10 and still no further increase. Funny thing tho is they did put a leaflet in the 10 statement telling me tips on how to get a further increase.

Pay in full by DD every month but i never spend more than £90. Usually much less.

Is it bad idea to phone up and ask for an increase?

If you ring Vanquis and ask for an increase they will tell you the same thing they told me - "they are automatic, they happen as and when, you cannot request one"

The Vanquis leaflet 'A guide to improving your Credit Limit' suggests everything apart from phoning them up and directly asking for an increase. I guess they just don't want us to call :o.

Thats the same leaflet i got today. Everything i already am doing myself. I wonder if they are hinting that if i used the card more that i might get an increase?

They do state, 'Use your card regularly and make your payments on time.....'

So maybe it would help to make a (few small) purchase(s) every month to satisfy their criteria

I'm nearly maxed out so i'm not spending on the card, i'm paying off!

The last time I got an increase from Vanquis, I hadn't spent anything on the card for that statement period. The only activity on my account is the £100 monthly payments.
