Is there an easy way for me to get to my profile? That's always how I checked back on the posts I had replied to (going to my quicklinks, my profile then recent posts) but now it's gone from my quicklinks.
You can still see the threads you have posted on via quicklinks if you click on Subscribed threads. Usually threads with new replies on that you haven't yet read will be listed topmost and be a darker blue than ones you have read.

Search seems a bit messed up for recent posts.
Spotted a suspicious user with 7 posts.
Clicked on "Find all posts by.........."
and got..Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
This worked just fine before the upgrade.
Now it appears that the database/search facility is not being updated as quickly as it was before the upgrade. It was almost instant before.
EDIT: Now in search results, but it took a good 10 mins at least.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

There is no sign of the buddy list when I click the Quick links button.
Its a really handy little tool, I hope it's just a glitch. Thanks for all the hard work :T:T~ What goes around comes around ~0 -

Hi folks,
Firstly, can I please request that you keep this thread for reports and relevant discussion. It's hard enough to keep track of issues as it is and we could do without the extra chatter.
Secondly, I'd like to thank MSE Neil and MSE Ian for their hard work and dedication not only over this weekend but for the many weeks/months we've been planning this upgrade. I think they've done an excellent job in getting us back up and running in such a short time.
As Martin's said, please keep the reports coming in and we'll keep fixing and tweaking.

Just want to add my voice to the hope that the buddy list can be reinstated in its original form. I don't understand the new contacts/friends list. What does requesting friendship do ?You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0

Adding the number of times a user has thanked someone else is going to make the thanks 'thing' get totally out of hand.
It already encouraged the 'cliques' to go round thanking each other, now they have another total to look at, we'll see nearly every post thanked.
In my opinion it isn't necessary at all. It just plays to those who spend all day on MSE. You can now tell who they are by looking at the thank you figures.0 -
I like the option to remove thanks if its hit in error. Sometimes on a fast moving thread with a troll people thank them by accident.
I've never heard of squiff-whiff (maybe is colloquial?) but I might start using it in conversation.
I agree with you. I've accidentally thanked people when I meant to quote or report them.
I think he means skew-whiff but I like new words. I'll add squiff-whiff to my vocabulary.0 -
Now don't shoot the messenger but as I understand it, the forum (vbulletin) software has been upgraded which means that the buddy list has changed to Contacts and Friends but the problem the techie guys are facing just now is tweaking the various new bits to suit MSE rather than a smaller user of vbulletin and the folks from vbulletin do work very closely with the techie guys so I'm sure now we've reached the more normal working week that a lot of the problems will be sorted out as the week goes on. The main problem with this seems to be the ability to see if your buddy list is online and this is one of the problems the team are looking at.
By the same token the thanks button isn't a standard vbulletin option and was added on by MSE and originally when it was introduced the stats shown now were shown and with various tweaking to get it to suit MSE and its vast number of users some options were changed. In past upgrades the same thing has happened that the software for the thanks button has reverted to standard and they have had to tweak it to remove some options.... so please give the guys a break and let them get on with their tweaking and I'm sure the thanks button will settle down and the stats removed from your profile.
At least the remove thanks button has now gone so do be aware if you want to thank me that you can no longer remove it
I take no responsibility for my non-techie post :rotfl:0 -
I'm having a problem with non-standard characters but the sticky to post feedback has gone!
If you try and post a word that should have an accent over the e, such as cafe, then the accented e becomes an exclamation mark: caf!.
I'm using the standard Alt Gr button (to the right of the space bar) before pressing the e button to do the accent which is the standard method that works everywhere else!0
