Thats what I thought! it's flippin typical, she's the kind of person who'll revel in it too! But it'll only be a matter of time before she does it again!!0 -
I have seen this happen too many times before. We get these lawyers, all paid for by legal aid, who get them off on some kind of technicality.
A colleage at work was is still in pain from an accident when he was rear ended by a drunk driver in 2005. He was so drunk he could barely stand up, and was arrested as he was unable to provide a specimen. Because one policeman accidentally put a wrong date in a report (he put 3 Jan 2004 rather than 3 Jan 2005) the case was dismissed.
OTOH my cousin was out with some friends and were all drinking. The person who was driving (and was not drinking) stopped to buy some cigarettes. Whilst they were sat in the car waiting for him to return, a policeman decided that as they were all drunk and in a car on a public road, this was drink driving. Of course non of them were entitled to legal aid. Fortunately the case was dropped, but not after causing everyone concerned a lot of worry.0 -
The whole justice system stinks! simple as that, whether it's a drunk driver or a murderer, they're looking at minimal punishment, there is no real justice in this country any more!! makes you think.....0

I think it's most important that the overall level of road accidents/deaths is reduced. The concentration on the 10-13% of accidents that are drink related stops this happening. Do the 87% majority not have their lives shattered too? But lives shattered by failing to check tyre pressure/other poor maintenance/changing CDs, using mobiles, calming fractious tots apparently don't count.
I realise this is an old post but i was picking my son up from town the other day when i was thankfully at the back of the guy who was in front, was driving and swapping between 2 mobile phones and holding 2 conversations at once which still attempting to drive.Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

Well, the court case has been and gone and guess what? the case was dismissed!! How on earth that happened I have no idea.....so she's free to carry on driving despite what she's done! Where is the justice in that!!
thats shocking to hear.. though i did read in your first post that she drinks all day then takes her kids to school in the morning.. thats some effort.
always jot something like this down and then go to the school about it as they would be interested in a drink driver to save the other kids if not hers..
good luckone of the famous 50
