I would be grateful if you could check the price of stage 1 baby newborn formula. I think they do SMA and I *hope* that we stock the Kirkland ones in the UK too. Thank you x

Sure I'm going tomorrow at 11am. I'll let you know :)

Surely it's the same price as everywhere else because it is against the law to sell "baby formula" (for under 6 months of age) at any discount or any 3 for 2 type promotion.

It should be sold at a standard or fixed price throughout all outlets

That's even why these don't qualify for Nectar points at Sainsburys and are excluded from products you can buy to redeem a £5 off £30 spend coupon at Tesco or similar.

It's a government restriction that comes from the World Health Organisation, who have an International Treaty that UN member states may not allow promotions or "unusual" marketing of formula milks for young babies.

The intention is that promotion or advertising of baby milk (competitive reduction of prices etc.) should NOT discourage breast feeding and reduce the percentage of mothers that do.

What they call FOLLOW-ON or TODDLER milk can be discounted & promoted

For the newborn of the 18th Oct 2011 ?

"Home bargains have tins of SMA milk for £5.99. They had from birth ones and 6+ months"

Taken from the Pregnancy thread though I believed as Quoia has mentioned though I don't suppose they can 'offer' on it I suppose they can take less profit?

Basscadette, I went to Costco today and the SMA First Infant Milk (Stage 1) from Birth is £8.79 for 900g (97.6p per 100g) NO VAT

    Item number 103245

I couldn't see any Kirkland alternative anywhere. They just had the SMA.

    Hope that helps :)

I finally got my makeup brushes.. :D but didnt see any festive ones like someone else mentioned. Just the normal ones in stock at the moment.

Thanks Bella, that's good to know. So it is cheaper then the supermarkets, even if only by 20p per can. Much appreciated :)

  • I was just wondering whether I would be able to apply for a
makro card. I work for a Local Authority but I'm not authorised to purchase for them. I know I Costco will give me one. Also, could anyone advise the cost of membership for makro?

    Thank yooou!
