You'd expect to pay international rates if you were calling from France, so why do you think Ireland is any different?!0 -

Because it's not part of the UK! It's a foreign country, therefore you pay foreign rates! The problem with that is that people who live near the border, often stray onto the foreign tariff and get charged a fortune!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -

I'm not moaning or anything...Just wanted to clarify what the situation was.
Now that i know Ireland is a foreign country ?..i will take steps to reduce my bill whilst i am out that way.
Seems a bit strange that when i was in Belfast about a year ago...calls back to the UK came out of my bundle allowance.

That's because Belfast is not in a foreign country! It's part of Northern Ireland, and hence part of the UK!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Hardly a major diference is it ? Northern Ireland / southern Ireland..
Looking at some of the network charges for calling / receiving calls
whilst in southern ireland you would think i was calling Australia...
Never mind.....
Thanks0 -

Yea you'd think with the costs of maintaining the 2 systems, it's be cheaper to roll it all into 1 big company (UK & Ireland) and charge all the same price! I suppose ROI operates in Euros though, so that might create a bit of a difficulty....Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
