It was a great show, I thought they were really nice people and it was obvious what a close knit happy family they were. Thought Dan's wife was a lovely lady and very pretty! See, you don't need all those expensive cosmetics girls, just get thee to a yoga class and have a daily dip in the sea! :)

I hope they do it. I was rooting for them all the way through.

The cat food segment was quite funny- though my jaw had dropped initially when I thought for a second that they were serious...

I finally gave in and bought the book.. I haven't had a chance to read it yet! The irony is I don't have any mortgage at all yet.... :p

I did wonder if she knew about MSE, she seemed to really get into the budgeting, cheap cooking etc!

She was definitely a student of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall for the food budget: nettle soup and purging snails on lettuce before eating them  is in the River Cottage cookbook (I think that's the right one).

One of the bits I found unintentially funny was when presenter guy said "Dan has set up his intenet site... so I went along [to Cornwall] to have a look at it." - completely missing the point of the world wide web there! :D (I know he went to talk to him on camera about it really!)
:shhh: There's somewhere you can go and get books to read... for free!

I'm really sorry I missed this. You're all making it sound like I've missed out! I hope they repeat it.

You are in luck, but I suspect you will want to set the video recorder...

I thought they were a great couple with great kids, their family values were a true inspiration. I think they will be most likely to suceed in their quest over anyone else in the series because they have a solid relationship foundation to get them through. On a site full of money savers and people looking to increase their wealth/decrease their debts, I think this episode has reminded us all that the best things in life are indeed free.

I sky + it and watched it this morning. So far I found this prog pretty boring. Have to agree with everyone else on this thread, I really enjoyed this one too and thought they were a lovely family. I'm pretty sure they will succeed.

What a great programme this final episode was. These people will achieve their goal, I've no doubt about it.

I see they originally needed to sell 100 stoves to pay off the mortgage, but with a limited run of 350, I reckon they'll be paying off their mortgage and buying the woodland.

I also see that Lucy has started advertising yoga holidays in France,Spain and the Red Sea. And what a money saver she is too..

Heres a message from Dan on the Hotpod website..............

A message to everyone who has requested HOTPOD information :

Dan has been overwhelmed with enquiries for info and is dealing with requests as fast as possible.

If you have heard nothing yet , please be patient as we are getting there as fast as we can.

    Thanks, Dan.

These nice people deserve all the success in the world. I think he'll need more than 350 Hotpods.

I can only echo what everyone else has said - what a lovely family. I really hope they are successful. Definitely a case of keeping the best till last, although I also enjoyed Sean and Ann-Marie on the first show.

She surfs, she cycles, she knows her yoga moves and nettle soup, can budget like the best of them, and she's blonde…

    I wouldn't mind a Hotpod as well.
