It's a shame that the answers are being given out because it's just not in the spirit of the competition. I'm happy to not win something if I'm not capable of winning it. That's life.

If you're too stupid to work the answer out then have some self respect and retire gracefully. If you're too stupid to get the answer when it's hidden under a little grey bar or so stupid that you don't notice the answer when it's already been given in the thread then I think natural selection will probably deal with you itself, next time you try to cross a road or change a lightbulb!

Re: those long lists of prizes won in signatures. Remember the Harry Enfield character whose catchphrase was "I am considerably richer than you"?

I agree with all the comments against the answers being given out. I understand the principle of helping each other and it's very commendable. However, you're not just helping each other inside this forum, you're helping anyone who wants to enter this competition and has access to the internet. In other words, your just making it more difficult for yourselves to win. These questions aren't difficult, anyone with a bit of common sense and access to google can answer them.
I also think there is a very strong element of "look at me" in these responses. Anyone who sits up until midnight so that they can be first to post the answer is just an attention seeker.

Hmmm! I wonder why so many new people are jumping on this thread to complain?

Maybe some people are working the answers out for ourselves. (Sorry I did get stuck on one, so looked on here late on in the day.)

Maybe some people don't need to be in bed by 9 o'clock and enjoy using their brain around midnight. Me:jeven though I have not been able to post the answer because everyone else has been quicker then me at finding it. :o

Maybe 99% of people on this competition forum enjoy helping each other and are happy for someone else to win ( preferably something they want, need, can use or pass on to someone they know would like.)

Maybe we are not all super brainy, or ever passed an exam (although does have a Dd taking 14 gcse's including Russian, Italian & Spanish at the moment all at A*/A apart from textiles and games which are a/b. She already has gcse Latin & German A*)

Maybe we can even appreciate art. :o

Now! here's you dummy, I will put it in your pram for you.

Why doesn't someone who doesn't agree with giving out the answers, start a thread somewhere else  so the peeps who think giving out the answers is a great idea can get on with entering.

Fantastic idea, they could even call it 'Win an original Damien Hirst painting - answers not included'

  • I personally am far too busy being a poor ill educated working class person to spend hours farting around looking for the answers. Oingo has very kindly saved me the hard work (and he managed to do it 4 mins after the new question came up this time - very clever :T)
  • Can I buck the trend and be a newbie who actually thinks this forum is an excellent idea?

I probably found this forum like many of the dissenters - by pasting the question into Google. I did this because I didn't automatically know the answer to every single question. I would suggest that the whingers also didn't know the answer - hence their need to resort to the internet - however when they found a helpful, friendly, useful and excellent thread instead of being grateful they decided to take the moral high ground and call everyone else who has happened across the thread 'stupid'. If you're so clever don't click on the forum, you know the answers anyway don't you? ....
