    Or Smmet like this..

Right-click the McAfee icon by your system clock.
    Click Personal Firewall.
    Click Utilities.
Note: Personal Firewall Plus 7 users, click Options.
The Personal Firewall window appears. Click Trusted & Banned IPs.
Click the Banned IP Addresses tab.
Highlight the IP address you want to allow.
    Click Remove button.
    Click OK.

it's doing it again! AND it says that tsr's ip address is blocked but it's NOT it's actually on the allowed list!

    :wall: :wall: :wall:

all i did was shut down the computer , go have dinner, watch a video and come back to download some stuff

yes, i clicked apply after adding the ip address as allowed too...

what the hell is going on with my firewall?

i have refused to use XP's built in firewall as microsoft is a huge target for hackers so why would i want to use their firewall right... how safe is it really? what free firewalls are safe and reliable? i'm fed up to the back teeth with mcafee right now, none of this makes ANY sense whatsoever!

I HATE MCAFEE IT IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE, IT MUST DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH! :wall: :wall: :wall:

the damn thing has taken over my computer! now that i sorta fixed the tsr issue (see link at beginning of thread) but didn't really fix it, it's decided to throw THIS up... i keep clicking on block and warn for fear that it will lock me out of everything if i tell it to block it forever

    netbios.jpg

i'm loathe to install another firewall before these issues are dealt with but i'm starting to suspect my mcafee is corrupted. i've run avg over it and it says it's free of viruses but i don't know, it's just gone haywire over the last few days and i have NO CLUE WHY!

i've read some nasty stuff about netbios...what is it?

i'm in computer hell... is this some sort of karmic reward for something i did as a child

Well if yer gonna get a new firewall get Sygate as thats what I use
its free and its brilliant they have discontinued updates for it but that
doesnt worry me in th slightest..

    http://blueyonder.tucows.com/files3/spf.exe

Just remember to download new firewall, go offline and completely
uninstall McAfee the install Sygate then go online, and also
when prompted just register it free, name and email address only.

    cheers intel

i don't suppose you know what i should do about this netbios thing do you?

also, HOW do you find the ip address of a site? i've got another one that i think it's blocking the only sites i can find where you type in the url and they give you the ip address don't support .co.uk sites!

i MUST have this one sorted, even i have to manually add it every time, it's a business account and i can't control getting my sales out without access to it  i'm hoping it's just that the site is down, i called dh (he's slaving away in his dept at uni) and asked him to check and he's getting nothing either but knowing my luck mcafee has decided i don't deserve to make a living let alone use any websites for my enjoyment, or hey, even use any websites at all! :wall:
