Mac or not?

Can anyone help me with my problem with Mac???!!! Have a Mac here that daughter used to use which both myself and son would like to adopt. However, unable to load certain progs as daughter put a password on as an administrator when she first had it. She now has no idea what the password is and we cannot add another adminstrator without the password!! Cannot find any original discs to do a complete reinstall to factory settings. Is there a solution for this?
OK, hold down cmd-s when the Mac is restarting. Once it has loaded, type the following:
/sbin/fsck -y [press enter]
/sbin/mount -uaw [press enter]
rm /var/db/.applesetupdone [press enter]
reboot [press enter]0 -
I made the switch from Windows to Mac and must say its a vast improvment for reliability. Also have found you can do lots of applications and work on it. You will find they also have a logicial easy interface on it to use, It will take a while to adjust but there are lots of guides and help oout there. I think a trip to your local Apple store is a good idea to see if you get on with the operating system and like the design of the mac.0

, felt the need to post, while I know it does get over the games issue...
you are suggesting that someone buys a Mac (for all the reasons one would do so) and then installs windows... why would you want to do that:o ? You dont buy a performance car and then put retreads on it or run it on low octane fuel. Or is windows somehow more reliable on a Mac then?
I thought the whole point of a Mac was the reliability and predictability of the machine and it's OS. Or have I been mislead?
The point is that if you need to use Windows for something, you can.0 -

You might have to go buy a replacement console before then though. (speaking as someone who has just received 2nd 360 (in 4 months) back from repair and they are only 13 and 18 months old, I don't really expect either to be working in 4 years)
It's only a game

You could always run a virus scan or something if you're bored.0 -

"beat" is all a bit relative, really. On the 360, everyone's on dual analogues (well, mostly), so all at an equal disadvantage, so it makes no difference, really.
Added to that the superior online gaming, the improved load times (especially for the console itself), playing games on your big fat telly...and, for most people, removing the only application that makes them need a desktop rather than a laptop - and, most importantly, the assurance that you're gonna be getting new games on that platform for the next 5 years, without you having to go out and buy a £150 graphics card every couple of years, consoles really are the way forward for gaming
I've got both consoles and a high end pc, no console has even begun to match the image quality of the PC so far and it's unlikely they ever will do on any pc I own
Back to the point in hand. Go try them out, if they do what you want it to and it’s affordable then buy it. Just don’t buy into a brand because of that alone, although that goes for a lot of other things that aren’t just limited to computers..0 -
I still love my linux machine0

Thanks ever so much for speedy response - dont want to seem a complete ignoramus but where is the cmd key?I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints - the sinners are much more fun0
