Hi All. I don't normally read the daily so am going to try to keep track as I'm on here all the time anyway!
Katie, good stuff you are home, you can't beat your own bed/sofa
Sunnygirl - really nice to hear about kind people helping others not so fortunate. I might look through your posts and see what else I can find out about him as it sounds really interesting.
What have i done OS today? Brought some HM bread to work, and "treated" myself to canteen vegetable soup. QUite a silly decision as i had taken out HM soup for dinner tonight - so will be a veggy soup kind of detox day! Works soup not as nice as my carcass soup though! Craving junk food as I always do in work. Grrrrrrr
Finally got some granary flour, so am going to try making Granary in the BM tonight. Seems as if it will work out more expensive per loaf though? The bag is smaller than normal, and it cost £1.18 compared to 68 for SWB flour?
Been cooking for a lot lately and not had a lot of rest so planning a nice relaxed weekend (no partying for me). Thought i would buy a chicken and see how far I can stretch it. Any time i bought a chicken in the past i would just have taken the breasts off and thrown the remains out. Isnt that terrible? Now , i barely allow myself chicken as i find it so expensive and harder to eek out. I would rather have chicken less often and lots of chicken, than have it regularly with fewer chicken if that makes sense
Need to clean my bathroom tonight i think. I need a hoover too so might ask for one on freecycle. I dont drive so it's relying on someone to drive me is the problem .
Was amused reading the grany trolley thread. I go food shopping and believe it or not, cycle it home on my bike on the handle bars. I had considered taking a suitcase on wheels shopping but thought people might think im mad!
Checked my bank account earlier and it is 74 o-d which im baffled about as I had worked out after all my direct debits came out, i should still be 30 in credit, so can't wait to get home and see what on earth I have done wrong? Fingers crossed it's all somehome ok.
Hugs to all. Finding the bright nights confusing sleep wise, and am waking up to bright skies at 5am etc!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hello everyone
Sorry I haven't been around much lately...
I think I'm going to lose the job I got offered....they have been taking ages getting the actual offer paperwork to me even though I've been chasing them. Today they phoned and want to see me again to discuss some things on my application form. This is highly unusual! I did ask what the problem was but they would not be drawn and insisted on me going to them for a meeting. !!!!!! I've had the medical and been for an interview. I can only think that one of my references has come back bad. One of my referees provided a good reference before, the other referee was from the place I was at most recently. I'll scream blue murder if that is what has happened. The meeting is on Monday, so that's plenty of time to get nicely stressed, worked up and worried sick. I honestly can't think of any other reason why they'd want to see me - I think the job has gone. Life really is a pile of shiiiiit.

Katie - so sorry you are feeling so bad, I hope you feel better soon.
Reverbe - I venture away from here with caution.
Mummysaver - wishing you luck.
Meanmarie - I hope it all works out for your DD, it must be so hard, and Kent is such a distance from you.
Csarina - fifteen years ago, just before we saw this house, we visited a house which was owned by someone obsessed by yellow. There was bright (and I mean bright ) yellow on all the walls of the house (including external walls) except the kitchen. The kitchen had gun metal grey walls and the ceiling was the same colour as little bear's yellow poster paint. I knew the owner very slightly and she genuinely, 100% couldn't understand why someone would want to redecorate over all her lovely yellow. I do hope you will be happy in your new place.
Well, I have not the energy to hang out the washing so the load I have done this morning is on the airer. I have more or less unpacked the delivery from Sainsburys. LB sounds like he is turning the pages of a book - he is supposed to be napping! Still, reading quietly is acceptable and a nap is probably the next stop. Sausages and (depending on energy levels) sweet potato wedges for tea.
I've fiddled about with meal plan ideas, but I think I shall do further research on the threads here. Also I think I shall have a look through some of the cookbooks I have accumulated. Until then it is what I can face making.
I have an overflow of bread at the moment, so I shall freeze one loaf in two slice portions, and it can be for toast. Also I am sure LB and the ducks can come to some sort of arrangement regarding stale bread
There is no obvious fall out from the visit of evil cat's gentleman admirer last night - she doesn't seem to realise a tom cat has been in the house and he obviously decided he didn't need to leave a 'calling card' so at least I am not fussing about that.

Good afternoon chums, The sun is shining here in North Kent and looking quite pleasant.Had a lovely afternoon yesterday with some friends and having been out shopping today am now going to have a potter about.
Finished Uni course on Monday night and all my essays have gone in now, fingers crossed.
meanmarie, Kent is a beautiful county, but I can see how you would miss your DD, but we are quite civilised here(well most of us anyway lol)
Just had the bill in for our trip to Amsterdam in July to see U2,think I'll have to sell a kidney or two:D but DD is worth it and she is so excited.
just off to have a rummage through the freezer to see what I can rustle up for dinner tonight.Have a good day everyone

Afternoon everyone! Hope you're having a good day?
It's not a bad one here in the Hebrides. Cloudy, but dry with a breeze, so good for getting the washing dry and airing the house. Hung out a washing before I left so that should be dry when I get home.
DH is still of ill but when I phoned him earlier he did the ironing as therapy (??!!??) It takes allsorts! He's also made the tea for tonight, so we're having mince and tatties with a couple of bits of white pudding too. The leftovers will be made into a cottage pie for tomorrow evening.
The longer days are great, it's nearly 8.30 pm now before it's dark here
Csarina - our last but one house was a nightmare for colours - a red living room, orange sun room, yellow and green bedroom, purple bedroom! Needless to say, painted calming whites and creams when we moved in. Happy painting!0 -
Oh there has been another helicopter crash off Peterhead a couple of hours ago. The helicopter is from the rig that OH is on
He is due to fly back tomorrow morning. All helicopter have been grounded so he prob won't get back until the weekend.

Hockeyduo - I don't know what to say except hugs, but I am thinking of you.
Little bear has decided he is allergic to naps. This may be something to do with the gruesome nappy rash he has developed. As the nappy rash came out of nowhere I suspect he has a cold or something that is making him a bit out of sorts. And of course when he is short of sleep, he goes onto fast forward. I actually had temper off him this afternoon, as I wouldn't let him play with dear heart's contact lens solution, and that is so unlike him. I am not sure if he has yet another cold or if it is just because he is tired. As I am short of breath with this rotten cold I am exhausted with keeping up, especially as I am changing him so often and because this means extra stinging as he is cleaned he is fighting it.
And I am a bit ashamed because so many people on here have such real problems while my cold will be gone next week.
And my five minute sanity saver is nearly up, and I will make brief trips downstairs to the kitchen to cue up dinner as in this mood little bear could make mischief with an egg cup. Sausages and baked potatoes today, which is the third day running for baked potatoes. I need to get those menu plans sorted. Also, need to consider lead time, when they can be assembled and how much last minute attention they need.
Lame wolf - the cook book I am about to dip into (distractions permitting) is called 'A wolf in the Kitchen'. I'll let you know if it is any good.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
