Sunnygirl - I was wondering how your young adoptee was getting on, sounds like you are doing a fantastic job, and I'm glad he's getting on so well. As for his parents, well words fail me, and surely that woman should know that only a mother deserves a mothers day card, and she can't claim that she is really a mother as far as I can see. Harsh perhaps, but I really hate to see children mistreated. Thank heavens that he has you and your lovely family to care for him and support him xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

Morning all
Dull and breezy here at the moment but have a load on the line as I suspect it'll get better soonWM going on again as soon as I have finished posting this
Waiting on British Gas man again this am  the first man, on Monday kickstarted the fan to get the heating and water working again but it lasted all of 2 hours or so before dying again, we have now had no hot water sincce Friday and it is getting a bit tedious having to boil the kettle to wash up etc. Anyways, the guy yesterday ordered us a new fan and promised he would be back this am to fix it so fingers crossed it works
The Irish Stew yesterday went down very well, DS even asked for second helpings :rotfl: Tonights tea is sausage casserole so will be getting on wth that later, also need to make some biscuits as OH polished off the last of the crispie cakes last night
Anyhoo, gonna get on, (((hugs))) to anyone who needs em.

Morning All
Lovely & sunny here today. I hope it stays like that. WM on, but I doubt it will finish in time for me to peg it out before going to work. It was nice last night, the heating was only on for a couple of hours!
I ended up making homemade fat free egg, chips & beans for dinner last night. Tonight will be a veggie risotto. My friend who lodged with me back in Jan/Feb came for dinner last night. Its a regular thing now for her visit every tuesday. She is doing really well in her nice little flat!
Ive just checked my fundraising page. Donations so far have gone up to £156, in a space of 5days. Im so thrilled!
N9eav - happy irthday for your son for tomorrow!
(((hugs))) PP, hope you feel a lil brighter soon!
redruby - good intensions with the paint! Shame you have to re-do it all.
sunnygirl, pleased to hear the young chap is doing well, and yes your right, the parents do need to wake up and take stock, or they could lose him forever. Well done to you and DH, its never easy taking on others!

How about baked pots, things on toast, soup, sarnie - all quick and don't involve much effort. We do omlettes in the mw, just whisk 3 eggs and put into the lid of a pyrex dish, couple of mins later you have a perfect omlette, simple and very cheap!
Jovichick - fingers crossed that your boiler is repaired very quickly, thankfully when ours was broken we were able to use the immersion heater for hot water, not sure what we'd have done otherwise!
Emma - thanks for letting us know how your friend is getting on, I'm glad her life is getting back on track :-)GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Its a lovely sunny day here, hope it stays that way
Showered, dressed and everything tidied up, hairdresser coming at 10:30, my hair seems to have grown a lot this time, feels a blinkin mess as well, I have fine hair its floaty and a real pain when it gets to this length.
Just having toast and a cuppa, we are out for a meal with friends this afternoon, they are house/dog sitting while her cousin is on holiday.
Then later we are going over to see our lovely little DGS he is soooo cute :j
PP - sorry you are not too well x Havent seen the newsletter yet must go take a look.
Katie - hope you are home soon
mummysaver - fingers crossed for you today x
SunnyGirl - I am so pleased he is doing well, I remember you saying how the
young man was when he first came to you, and yes you are right discipline and knowing the boundaries works wonders, but the biggest thing is knowing you are loved and wanted, which is what you have shown him, its a pity his parents havent, but some people havent got a clue when it comes to looking after their own family. Perhaps one day they will regret it as they will be the losers.
HockeyDuo - we wont be seeing you for a couple of days then :rotfl:
O dear I do seem to have gone on a bit this morning:o
better go she will be here in a bit

Hello everybody,
Just about to go and write out my menu & shopping list for tomorrow and thought I better come in and say hello.Been out [STRIKE]gossiping[/STRIKE] visiting all afternoon. My throat is even sore from all the talking. :rotfl: I used some soapnuts this morning that Snowy sent over. So far so good. Think I might stick to normal powder for DH's work clothes etc & use the soap nuts for lighter loads.
Done the floors this morning, made cordial & boiled some soaked black eyed beans & chickpeas for the freezer.
Katie Hope you recover quickly
Mrs Mix
