Hi gargrave
I have been a little naughty today and not done anything since I posted this morning:o. Oh well I hit it hard tomorrow.
The spending dairy has been started and hopefully show me how I waste money:p.
I am going to read your other thread now:beer:.
I see you are having probs with HBoS - without sounding stooopid Halifax are part of this group aren't they?
I going to have a root around and see what cc's are pre 2007 and send of for our CCAs.0 -
Hey bluejeans, I got some letters off this morning and have faffed about online since then.
The spending diary is great, but a rude awakening!
You might want to pour yourself a coffee/glass of wine before you take on my thread. Its very dull!:D
Yes, Halifax bought Bank of Scotland (before Lloyds bought them!) Have a root around your credit cards, the CCA's are a new thing to me and I'm tentatively making my through the minefield!:rolleyes:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Hi everyone
Just catching up after being away with work for a couple of days. Letters and phone calls from Barclays not accepting my offers but they are now closing my accounts and referring me to Mercers. 23 years with Barclays, 2 months missed payments, 1 pro rota from DMP and that's it - finito. I think I'm actually glad. Just hoping that they will now freeze interest and not continue to contribute to their £2 billion profit!!! Should I try and claim my default charges and interest back? Anyone had any success?0 -
Morning all hope all is well!
Gargrave hope you had a good night out and aren't feeling too bad today:p.
Well like I mentioned on your other thread gargrave I am going to start my own thread/dairy to keep me focused. I will start this on Monday so in the meantime I will post here just to give myself a kick up the backside that I definitely need:D.
Today I have a list so long that I need to get started y'day to have any hope of completing it today.
I have letters to compile and print to claim back PPI insurance.
I need to sort out an old mortgage and the exit fees we were charged.
I need to set up some more standing orders.
I need to put in a financial hardship reclaiming letter to our current bank - both accounts.
I also want to have a look at credit card charges as well as although I done this years ago I think we only had 1 success and me being the hoarder that I am I have all documents here so no need to spend any money requesting statements etc:j.
I can't think of anymore at the mo but I think there is alot more to be getting on with today. Hubby home at lunchtime so he can get the kids out of my hair for a while.
Back soon with any updates if the postie brings me anything.0 -

Hi working mum,
We have a barclaycard cc and so far they are ignoring our DMP offer:mad:. I'm sure we will shortly be following you to Mercers. I have to say there isn't an awful lot positive said about Mercers as they appear to be Barclays in-house debt collectors:rolleyes:. Do a search and you will see what I mean!
Are you talking about reclaiming bank charges under the hardship clause? If so it can be difficult to prove hardship and the bank are looking for you to have arrears in your priority debts before they acknowledge hardship in many cases.
We recently had a bank charges hardship offer but not from Barclays - HBoS.:DLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Hey blue jeans,
My night out / in is tonight:beer:. Although I do have a fuzzy head this morning thanks to my neighbour inviting us round for a "wee glass of wine" - it more resembled a bottle to be honest - Morrisons chardonnay reduced from £10.99 to £3.99:D
I love lists.:smileyhea
Sounds like you are going to have a real MSE day. A diary has certainly worked for me - I'm guilted into sticking with this by many! Let me know when its started so I can subscribe - just to give you the kick up the bum as and when required:pLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

I sent off my letters exactly a week ago, haven't heard anything yet, the calm before the storm no doubt.
Good luck everyone,
oh yeah, what does CCA stand for?

another thing, is it ok to claim for bank charges from a company who has agreed or not agreed a dmp with you? I am nervous that they will not commit to the dmp if I try to claim money from them.My darling boy born December 20110 -

Well started on my list:cool:.
Sent a few letters regarding PPI claims - 2nd letter stage for 3 and 1 letter has been sent to FO.
Two have replied and are still investigating as well one for over £1000 so that would be nice if they pay back.
I have printed off letters to request our CCA's from various lenders - can you confirm what the cut of point is ie: what month and year if you know? I have searched endlessly for dates and can't find anything.
I setup/paid a few more creditors the pro-rata sum - a couple I need details for so they will hopefully get back to me. If not I may just send a PO this month.
I am awaiting for details of our new bank account to transfer everything.
Think that's all I've done today so going head out with the kids and hubby for a few hours for a walk and a kick about with the football.
Enjoy your night 'in' tonight:beer:.
Catch up with you later.0
