Oh my god what have I done!! Overpaid a Capital one CC

Hey

I am so stupid, I just paid off my balance on my credit card using the faster payment method from Halifax bank

Then went back onto my account transactions on Halifax and realised I already paid them £500 yesterday

I am just about to ring them to see what they can do (probably nothing at the min cos it wont be showing)

Surely they will have to give me my money back though?

Anyone else ever done this?

Is the CC now in credit? If not, I don't see why CapOne would refund you the money.

Surely you would be charged if you did that? Just request a cheque.

Most credit cards will impose a cash withdrawal fee, whether in credit or not.

    Precisely which law?

Don't know where this notion has come from

If you withdraw cash from an atm, their systems automatically apply a cash advance fee and you're charged cash withdrawal interest rates, even though it's your money.
Yeah, I would be charged for using the cash machine

Fortunately, it sounds as though the OP knows better.
