New cheap Dell laptop offer (merged)

The infamous £299 offer has now been replaced by this offer for £339 http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_1300?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn which includes 512 MB RAM instead of the previous offer's 256 MB.

As this is an upgrade which many members seemed to be doing anyway this offer is IMHO at least as good as the last, particularly since it can be done online with Quidco cashback, and.....no call centres!

Other upgrades you might consider are 15.4" screen for about £35 and upgraded battery for about £11.

Hope this helps, especially if you are gutted at having missed the £299 offer.

Does this laptop have line in facility so a microphone can be attached.

It needs to have line in, not just microphone facility.

The inspiron 1300 does have a microphone and headphone socket on it.
