Spikes. I think the solution lies in carefully mounted spikes. Embeddeded in concrete. With poison tips.0

I'm fortunate, in that I live in an area where we don't have any of the trouble with unruly children. Even so, the gate between my garage and house walls is padlocked. Just for sercurity reasons really.
It's all down to parenting.
I have five grandchildren ranging in age from 6 to 14. The can get very noisey if they are at my house all together. I always tell them to keep the noise down and to consider the neighbours. They are very good kids and very polite (wouldn't dream of being rude to a stranger) but they are kids and do get noisy. Especially when they go in my swimming pool in the summer. It does have a dome over it (rain & bugs deterrent) but can still hear them laughing and squealing. So stuck a two way waterproof radio in there, so I can yell at them (from indoors) to quieten down.0 -

Some real nutters on here, well done.
CCTV, ASBOs, calling the police, calls of trespass and vandalism! One person even said she would drive her car round and play loud music outside their parents house! No you wouldn't, you idiot. :rotfl:
Some kids are kicking a ball at a hedge for crying out loud. I thought these types of responses were only posted in Discussion Time but it seems the mentalists are everywhere.:eek:S!!!!horpe0 -
Low level nuisance and damage to property is as big an issue for the UK society as people robbing banks with guns.
Kids need to know how to play nicely respecting other people's property.0 -

The first bit is absurd.S!!!!horpe0 -
The dismissal of low level nuisance as having no impact on quality of life on millions of people across the UK is arrogant.
Being robbed at gunpoint would of course be very stressful, but ongoing every day stress caused by nuisance is probably as damaging to people's health and social wellbeing. You'd also get counselling and stress management for a obvious incident, whereas millions of people are made unhappy and potentially ill by irresponsible actions and constant nusiance.0 -

Kids climbing over your walls and fences to get balls - then vandal paint the top of the walls and fences.Parents will be more annoyed at having to buy new kit for their little darlings and feel the cost like you do.Some parents will even have the cheek to complain about you doing it to the police.
Get a councillor to do a no ball sign , but the police will tell you its impractical to enforce same as loitering laws.
Get a big dog that likes barking when kids hang around your property edge and likes to rip up balls when they come over the fence. The dog ripping it up is as much accidental as it coming over the the fence , this is your excuse and the legal duty of care then lies on the ball owner to prevent it from happening to their property. The other neighbours will get annoyed about the dog noise and report you though , but the kids are more likely to move somewhere quieter to be less noticed.
Why is it that there is always a park area five minutes walk from where they kids are playing and its always empty.
The worse kind is when your an end terrace and your wall is constantly being bumped with a ball.
Neighbours are rarely supportive for many reasons , it could be their kids doing it , they dont see or hear it if its not their house , scared to report for fear of repercussions or know more about alberts square than their own one.
No wonder kids want to stay in their street to play footy though , I did it , and was less than 3 minutes from a custom built multi five a side park made from tar and strewn with glass.
Parks , or the few we have left for them to play in are more likely called dog toilets or drinking dens. Can you blame the kids or their parents preffering them to annoy neighbours instead of using them?
Our story , sorry not footy though.
I always had a run in with a neighbour because I wouldnt let their teenagers noisily hang around outusde my home with a group , yet they wouldnt hang around their own a few yards away.
We couldnt have windows open for fresh air as the noise and language from them was unbearable , had to have our tv full blast to be able to hear it and they only got even louder when we did so.
The police were no help whatsoever every time it was reported , you can see why it deters others from caring. The house had a high turnover of owners in short periods of time which I reckon everyone should check up about before hand.
I put up a sensor spotlight as a deterrant and got a complaint from another "good" neighbour about it lighting up their bedroom so removed it.On hindsight I should have kept it as it was as much their problem too when they benefitted from my actions.
Final thought.
Why dont we just introduce laws similar to the on the spot fines for drunkeness or dog fouling but for ASB , loitering etc but yet have somewhere for the kids to go to without a fear of being fined or feeling persecuted for being a kid?Have you tried turning it off and on again?0 -

Dog walkers should clean up after their dogs and the yobs who drop litter and bottles should be fined.
Our PCSO has taken to writing names on bottles of the kids who are too old to have their booze confiscated. (She took 72 bottles of grolsch off one kid the other weekend!) - a shopkeeping is doing this elsewhere and has cut litter massively.
Football spaces are available - there's a great space about 1 minute cycle from here - but for some reason it's too far.
Most of the vandalism is done by kids though - so they are unable to respect the spaces they have.0
