Yes, we should be glad that kids are playing outside rather than injecting into their eyeballs. Yes, it's great that they have hobbies. Yes, kids will be kids.

But if they were decent, sensible kids, they would stop kicking the ball against the hedge when asked. I played outside lots when I was younger and once got shouted at for sitting on a kerb outside someone's house! I never did it again because I felt bad and didn't want to upset anyone. OP, you are completely right to be angry. Do you know who the parents are? Could you go speak to them about it?

Otherwise, try the council. They might want to impose a 'no ball games' rule. Which of course spoils the fun, but if the kids had been considerate (as all children and adults should be) in the first place, you wouldn't need to complain, would you?

Some people on this thread clearly don't live in the real world. Kids kicking a ball around can often mean abuse, violence and intimidation. It's not all sweetness and light you know!

We have a group of kiddies from the estate near us who come and play on our street and on the green area in front of our house. They are sooo noisey but they are just being kids but we often have to move the car due to the number of bikes going up and down the road.

Me and another neighbour went out and had a chat with them one day when they were tearing out the plants from a neighbours garden. I asked them why they play on our street rather than in the open space at the front of their houses (nice big space). They told us that their parents told them to come down our way as they are too noisey when mum and dad are sleeping.!!!

Not only that we live near not one but two lovely big parks and we asked why they didnt go there. Again they said mum and dad said they couldnt go to play at the park as there could be peados there!!!

I honestly at that moment at the end of my tether wanted to tell them I was a peado but instead I just got them to replant the ripped up plants and told them to keep their voices down.

They now play in front of the old peoples flats, Im sure they appreciate the noise. NOT

Kids will be kids HOWEVER, you still have a right to enjoy your property so maybe go and have a word with the parents and just say you are making sure you have the right house to get money back when real damage to the car etc is caused. Maybe mum and dad will then take that as a warning?

We've suddenly got a huge bunch of kids playing out - new neighbours - and I can't work out how many kids they've got - but I think it's about 6. They've not moved in properly yet though...

You don't say how old they are ?

Do you know where they live ?
    Are the parents approachable ?
Do you have a community police person you could have a chat with ?

I wouldn't recommend shouting at them bound to esculate
"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

All truth goes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Then, it is violently opposed. Finally, it is accepted as self-evident.

    1) i've asked them many times not to play football there
    2) I'm very tempted to park my car in front of the hedge to hopefully prevent them from playing there
    3) or maybe just stab the bloody ball!

    Any ideas?

    I'd plant a Pyracantha hedge.
Rub or fall against that and...OUCH!
It's often recommended planting to deter burglars from climbing over.

Tick tacks round the grass and axle grease the hedge ...
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
