Are you daft or just ignorant?

    The facts:

I posted a link advertising the fact that companies who charge for this service are scammers, or words to that effect. I was then notified that on this page there was an advert, this would be called a banner in I.T terms - basically the banner changed when you refreshed the page.

The page in general was designed to point out to people that these companies are not to be trusted, something that is quite clearly one of my strong beliefs and can be vouched by reading any of my posts on this subject - there are plenty to pick from :p.

However, the lass from scotland seems to think she's now an I.T expert and trying to imply something that she knows damn well has nothing to do with me - I cannot control the content of a webpage owned by thisismoney.co.uk and if they are stupid enough to contradict their own site with banner ad's, so be it. I do however think that a nice reminder that the link may be 'soured' would have been been better than your pointless, smart ars comments which to be honest just go to prove that you are indeed incendiary.

Me thinks that little miss trouble-maker, ought to go and have a long hard think and smell the coffee! :naughty:

Daft or ignorant, difficult choice there

The website you linked to wasn't thisismoney though nor is the site you linked to owned by them.
I hope this doesn't sour your vision of MSE - generally it is a decent hang-out, just leave the cling-ons to do their worst - if it gets out of order we'll get the mods in to remove them/their posts.

This thread was always going to be contentious, quite so contentious was another thing altogether! :p

Feel free to report my post if you feel I'm a cling-on :)

I've just had a look at the original link posted, and that site page is stuffed with adverts for fee charging companies and other blood suckers.:eek:
At the very least that was shocking choice of link to post considering what you say you are trying to achieve here.:rolleyes:

I am surprised that the above post has not been removed as 'abusive'.

You have launched a vitriolic attack on one of the most trusted posters on this site. At the same time you are seizing yet another opportunity to promote a website that features links to fee paying companies.

I tried, very hard, to 'accept' your posts as genuine - I even put the 'arrogance', that comes accross very strongly in your posts, down to over enthusiasm coupled with inexperience.

I'm sorry to say this, but I was wrong, and I strongly reccomend to any poster, who may have seen your thread as offering a potential solution to their debt problems, to ignore totally your advice and, if they have a problem, to seek professional advice from one of the debt charities, in line with the advice given by the owner of this site - Mr Martin LEWIS:
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • ok..... like saying 'don't wanna die in a plane crash? Don't board a plane'

Abolutely no relevance whatsoever to the thread. So, lets assume you suddenly get made redundant and have no money, you have to feed your kids or pay your credit card who just froze your limit so its one or the other....

tell me honestly, what you gonna do?

My point precicely; people don't go out on purpose to rip off banks - its a legal !!!!-up by the banks and the consumer is now fighting for their rights.
    :T

I take responsibility for the debits I have, I have no debit that I cannot pay for a year should i be laid off.

Fighting for their rights? Thats laughable... I bet you had a great time spending the banks money and now you don't want to pay it back.

at the end of the day you are the reason free banking is going in the UK. Enjoy your tricks and schemes because a person thats an idiot with money will always be an idiot with money.

At first I was going to post and say this was a helpful thread, but then I see that the OP has once again resorted to blatant name-calling against anyone who disagrees with him as is quite common in his posts in other threads. This indicates to me that the OP only started this thread as yet another way to call people that disagree with him names. So my advice is to follow rog2's advice!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

Fair point, I actually made a mistake and never studied a link that I used. However all that aside, the main context of the link was about the scammer companies and you know when I posted the text - I got asked to remove it by Mods and so put the link instead.

genuine mistake, removed when brought to my attention. Don't you guys make them? Course not, you're all so perfect :rotfl:

I didn't think there was any call for a so called 'trusted poster' to directly accuse me of such when anyone with half a brain cell would realise that no one would spend this amount of time on a thread unnecessarily. It was a genuine mistake.

A vitriolic attack eh? Hardly, and for the record this so called 'trusted poster' has been in contact with me several times and each time tried to cause trouble because I upset one of their little buddies - aaw, shame! Before spouting your sanctimonious bull !!!!!! - try and get the facts - please....

I think you're way off the mark, i've removed the link and was not siezing anything. Your worthless assumptions aside, my whole auditable post trail will show I hate these companies and I think you'd be better versed in obtaining facts prior to making yourself look a tit in future.

Name calling? I called someone ignorant because they accused me of deliberately posting advertising something that anyone with half a brain would see I am dead against. Where is the logic?

It is not common in my threads at all, in fact compared to yourself (why not) I think you'll see not only my thanks count but my thread count are far superior so your point here is exactly what?

You've just contradicted yourself so much its funny.... read your OP again and spot the mistakes, other than the obvious loyalty diversion one!

Listen you guys, I don't really see what the problem is. I started this thread with the sole purpose to help people not argue with you all day. Until you came on starting to cause trouble it was fine.

Notice, for the record, its the same culprits and not one of them have added anything constructive but instead choose to pick fault, great example to be setting guys! If that is what these so called super users have to offer then i'm sorry but maybe Martin needs to look at reviewing the site doesn't he.

It is a joke and rather pathetic and soooo plain to see that the same people are always linked in ganging up on others.

Please if you have nothing useful to add - please don't post - save us all the bother :naughty:
