Not really fussed now my interest is getting less and less as every topic as nearly been done to death (most many times).

All the petty stuff as got in the way of some good topics.

For some reason it as turned in to some group of Bear V Bull which is tedious.

This is coming from someone who doesnt venture in The Arms?

The Arms is actually quite the opposite of 'silly whatsit gossip' - perhaps you should try it some time? ;)

I did and still do......and still am not keen.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I have also visited DT and the shennaigans over there are worse than here. Umpteem threads denigrating into claims and counter claims of alternative ID's, people swearing and being rude to each other.

You need a pretty thick skin to post over there....so many (not all I admit) are far too prejudicial of others it is like trying to walk through treacle up the hill to get to the top.

I have actually found it to be less mature not more...hence the reason why I only stayed a very short time before giving up, I didn't much like being called scum on an hourly basis.

You were probably in DT, not The Arms.

And I dont mean to be rude, but I have seen your posts before in benefits threads - you do seem to take everything said as personal to you, rather than seeing the big picture of what has been posted.

So it may be just that you are been a teeny weeny bit sensitive ?:o

House Prices, the Economy & Recession

Probably the biggest potential money saving choice a buyer could make (buying a house at the right time).

    Shouldn't be moved

by just having a cursory look at where this forum is being proposed to move to in the arms discussion are, tells me that that area has nothing to do with any economy discussions. it looks more like a 'B rate' daily mail discussions area for anything under the sun, everything else other than the economy. i certainly wont be venturing there much, if ever. i guess many other similarly minded people would wander off elsewhere as it would be a pain plodding through the pointless discussions there.

unless ofcourse that the intention in moving this board is to kill off this board by slow torture on the arms discussion area! :rotfl: life would still go on but a lot would move elsewhere, but the trouble makers might just stay!

I've looked at The Arms but I'm just not interested.

    1st 6 threads:

Honestly. How fit do you need to be to run Race for Life?
    Bog roll call
lyndseyann loads and loads of thanks
2 Girls 1 Cup and other funny exam paper answers
    Furry Muffs!
    Worst smells

It's no more of a fit than the current place.

Quite possibly but then it is personal to me and I don't like being accused of being scum because someone does not have the good grace to think of the wider picture......that makes it personal. So a little of personal experience is a good thing to put a point across.

I have posted in both the Arms and DT, the arms seemed full of non important x factor type stuff, the more serious discussions in DT.

Of course, there were exceptions to this...sometimes a more serious topic would be posted in the Arms but it soon got lost in x factor type stuff.

Is it going to be a sub board of the Arms (in which case it will take its tone from the Arms) or will it be a main board in the same area as the Arms?

Personally, I don't ever go and would never consider venturing into the 'chat' sections of the site - it's only the 'pure money' discussions that interest me.

I think it's a bad idea to move it as

    (a) I suspect other regulars - at least those whose primary interest is the economy and house prices (not those whose primary interest is in who on the forum has other usernames, or likes/dislikes some other poster/posters) - will be put off. And

    (b) for anyone else, discussions about house prices and the economy feed naturally into discussions about buying houses. I always thought that splitting the main housing board was an odd decision, for that reason. But at least where they are now, both boards are easily visible and accessible to all those coming to the site to ask/discuss housing matters, particularly those wanting to get advice on how much to buy/sell their house for. Whilst price is not the only factor people want advice on when buying and selling, on a money-saving site, it's clearly a very important one, and banishing all discussion of house prices to an area of the site which is not immediately obvious to most users, will just have the effect of limiting the useful advice provided here, and/or creating enormous duplication, as all those wanting to discuss house prices turn to the House Buying and Renting Board - because they don't know there is another relevant sub-board lurking down the bottom, somewhere.

FWIW, I didn't even know the Money Savers Arms existed until very recently! - and I'm a regular and have used the site for years! So I doubt newbies would venture down there without a reason.

it is going to be a main board near the arms, martin has stated that in his opening post. It will not be a sub board.
