My DD might make the odd post for me0 -
Hiya,
I'm just back in from visiting tonight. My first port of call was to the other man in my life, but I had to take DH and he was muscling in trying to get attention from 'my man' as well.:D
He is getting so big now, he answered the door all by himself, and then promptly ran to his dad, pretending that he was shy.:A
It's funny, sometimes I think he is a bit frightened of DH as he only sees him sometimes as he works away from home, and also as he is 6ft 2ins tall.
He's 18 months now, and wearing big boy nappies, (these pull up things), he likes to show the pictures on the front, it is tigger who is his favourite. I had to go over to my brother's tonight as my SIL had made cakes and she needed my approval.:D
They were gorgeous, and even better than the ones you would get out of a fancy tea room. She was all proud of herself, and apparently the clever nephew helped mummy, he stirred the mixture (actually he made a right mess, his mum said), but it is good for him to learn and he really enjoyed himself.
Then we went to my mum's and delivered some of the cakes there. I had intended in going to a shopping centre tonight, but didn't as sisters couldn't be bothered. I had a much nicer time anyway doing my visiting.
Hope you are all doing okay. Hugs to Aeb, we are all here for you. xx0 -
Didn't want to just read and run (I've only just caught up on the last 2 nights)
aeb - just wanted to send a (((hug))) and to say whatever happens we'll all be here to support you and listen if you need to get anything off your chest. You're probably feeling all mixed up at the moment anyway and it's good that your Mum is coming to help. Hi guys,
Aeb, sorry I missed your post last night. I hope whatever news you have received can be dealt with, although I'm not too sure what your scan revealed. I do know that the amniocentesis test can be wrong for a couple of reasons. Whatever happens, my thoughts are with you and I hope you can have someone like your mum to stay for as long as needed.
SL - Glad you had an enjoyable evening, hope the DH is behaving himself and more than making up for last week.
Blairweech - I don't actually have any Glaswegian in me at all, so you wouldn't need a translator if we ever met at a Frugaldom function. I now live among lowlanders, where the language is completely different and, having lived north of Aberdeen, have also had to learn to understand the Doric speakers. All these, I can manage, but I still can't hear the likeness between 'Geordies and Jocks' - not meant in any derogatory way.I was known as 'that bl**dy jock' or else 'that miserable Scot' in my 'down south' jobs. And before anyone jumps on the 'racist' bandwagon, it didn't bother me one bit as long as they accepted what they got back
It's strangely calm here. The sun was shining when I got up this morning and I was going to hang out washing. However, it's now very grey, clammy and not a breeze to be felt - VERY strange and pre-storm like. Fingers are crossed that it drifts over and storms elsewhere. (Sorry if you're in Belfast, it looks like it's heading your way. )

Aeb - not sure what your scan has revealed you really have been through the mill. Sending you my best wishes. If it is Down's then scans are not always correct. However if you are expecting a Down's baby they are the most loving children and bring great comfort.
My grandfather was a schools health doctor and after he retired he could not leave the Down's syndrome special school he had had contacts with and would visit regularly. I went with him , they were the most friendly and cheerful children I ever played with.
Talking about dialects, noticed that Cameron of BB fame ( do you remember him) came from the Orkneys and sounded Welsh. Was intersted if this is a common accent for that area as my granfathers family originally came from Isle of Stroma! and Thurso area.( Emigrated to Canada where Grandpa was born, but he said some words in a non-Canadian accent, for example Film was said with the m pronunced um!)
Trying very hard to stay on budget, but struggling. However the garage is my 'shop' I am sure my neighbours think I am odd going out to the garage and coming out with armfulls as if I have been to the local shop! Would love chickens, but all around would be up inarms - apart from the dog and cats - they would love it!0 -

aeb, sorry to hear about the scan - it may be wrong, but if not as others have said babies and children are loving and gorgeous whatever their probs, and I am sure you will cope. Glad your mum is coming to visit,
We had the lamb chops yesterday which were yum. Am debating what we can have for tea tonight, as we are at swimming until 6. I have some new potatoes, so must find something quick in the freezer to go with them. A small thing, but I was really proud of myself for not going into town to get breakfast, normally I would give in and go, but I resisted and just had something here. A real step forward if I can give it up!
Cones make wonderful fire lighters, but unfortunately we dont have a supply near us. We fill our boots whenever we see a tree when we are out and about.
Head still muzzy from last nights migraine, so looks like another early night with hot water bottle and cold flannel tonight - so sexy!
Have a good day everyone - liloLive on £4000 a year again for 20110
