Oh careful, bails. You don't want to get SL all riled up again.

(It's even funnier if you imagine it in a Scottish accent).
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

Hello, just caught up before bedtime. sft - when we bought our first house there was a hitch at the last minute and we had to live with my MIL for 17 weeks , three weeks will fly by!

Scan tomorrow - bit nervous, bit excited - mixed emotions

    house things
I had a go at working out the wood and plaster board needed for stud walls today. All three are the same so it's not too difficult. These will need to be up before the electrics and plumbing.

    frugal things
    homemade loaf and scones

aims for 2014 - grow more fruit and veg, declutter

I love scones Aeb, I tried to make treacle ones a while back, but they did not rise. I did not put enough baking soda in, I'll try again sometime soon. Hope the scan goes well. You are one brave lady and resourceful too. xx

...and you admit to not making good scones #924 :confused:throw a good heaped teaspoon of baking powder in and don't knead the dough and they'll be as high as they are wide. :T

    Morning frugang.

Haven't posted in a few days. Was going to the other day but got a bit scared to in case i made the discussion any worse. I don't know why people feel they should jump in and be so dominant to something that is so well established.

I've spent a few days recovering from being ill. I went back to work yesterday and got hit straight away with a surprise lesson observation. Luckily only 20 minutes, and it was ok. Much better than the one i had last week anyway. Whoever thought so many observations would 'support' my return to work isn't as petrified of lesson observations as me obviously.

Then i taught a 5 lesson day. Then my head of dept thought my reports weren't good enough so i had to alter them after school and get them printed as teh deadline is today and i am not in school. Then i brought work home with me, but DH was at work so i had kids bedtime to do alone and my 1yo decided it was teh perfect time to rebel and throw a 11/2 hour paddy. So dinner got cooked about 9ish, and i worked till 11 and the evening was gone again.

    Todays plan:
DH's car is in being repaired again. Thank god that isn't part of the challenge as we have already spent £1600 on car repairs this year and are personally keeping the garage in business it feels. Mine also needs looking at again. but i'm prolonging that as work keep messing up my wages. He dropped the car off but i need to take them the key. So i will pop to the library with the kids, go and get some bread and also pay DS1's birthday cash into the bank on the way.

My sister suggested we go to the local early learning shop today as apparently they have loads of toys out for the kids to play with,so i'm up for that. Something different and cheap. I might treat the kids to lunch out.

Then lots of school work tonight, and DH can take a turn at putting them to bed after that performance before i book myself in for a melt down.

Aeb thinking of you too today, best of luck, and i hope you enjoy it.

weather is lovely here at the minute so i am going to do my walking around the high street this morning rather than later when the rain is forecast.

    Michelle x

And I've accessed it from my mobile - although for some reason it won't let me send PMs from there (can read them though)
Well now you're just showing off! :p My mobile can't even take photos. Mind you, my mobile can't even make calls or texts from where I live! :rotfl::rotfl:

Cha - I hope you are feeling a lot better, I honestly don't know how people with small children manage working away from the house, it was something I could never do despite trying on numerous occasions. I always ended up packing in my jobs over lack of childcare.

Re people jumping in, I don't mind in the least. This challenge has invoked many a strange and surprising response and, no doubt, will continue to attract many more. It's a busy and active place where everyone is guaranteed some attention. If it makes them feel better about the state of their lives then our thread is a success. Some people just come across as antagonistic when they need to write things down but don't actually mean to be, especially if English isn't their first language. Personally, my hackles go up when someone uses several exclamation marks at the end of a general sentence, as it's like being reprimanded. I know that it isn't meant that way, but perhaps I'm just old fashioned. I also hate 'text speak' anywhere other than a text message, but have a very good friend - a school teacher, surprisingly - who refuses to use anything else but 'text speak', even in IMs. Sadly, I never understand a word she says and have no intentions of learning to translate. I do understand the easy stuff, like 'U' and '4' and 'L8', so I'm getting better. :o

Aeb - good luck with the scan, I'm sure you'll cope admirably amidst what others may see as absolute chaos. Do you have friends or family locally to provide any extra support when needed?

Just waiting for arrival of the coalman - he's 'L8'!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
